I'm not sure if i'm in the right forum as I have a few questions that cover several forum topics so I apologize if i'm wrong. I am 23 years old and over the past few years have suffered 3 miscarriages, the last one being particularly traumatic, I almost bled to death miscarrying at 6 weeks, requiring a blood transfusion. My doctor said the reason for my haemorrhage was that I have an underactive cervix, basically it gets exhausted too soon, after contracting to expel the fetus it wouldn't contract to stop the bleeding. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant again, but were looking at having an elective c-section to avoid any haemorrhage problems assosciated with a vaginal delivery. Habitual abortion runs in my family from my mother's side, as does pre-term labor and haemorrhaging after delivery, with my mother, sister and aunt all suffering severe bleeding after giving birth, my sister almost dying. With all this medical history working against us, do you think I have the right to ask for a caeserean? My doctor is not keen, she says we should just see what happens, however I am not keen on going through something if it's not necessary, and I think I have enough evidence to prove that I am at a higher risk.
Thanks for your time and advice,
Melissa
