Used 18 gauge needle for Progesterone in Oil injection

This morning when I took my IM POI injection, I forgot to change the needle to the 22 gauge and used the 18 gauge to draw up the medicine and also inject. I am in a lot of pain.  I am worried about infection, and nerve damage as this needle is so big.  Anybody else ever done this or know someone who has?  I am so stressed over this.  Currently, I am 5 weeks pregnant after embryo transfer and want to make sure nothing bad happens.  I am measuring low on all my hormones and ultrasound, so doctors think I might miscarry.  Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI,
Although infection, and nerve damage is a possibility with injections, the chances are very less. Hence you should not worry. It is natural that the use of a large bore needle will cause more pain and possibly inflammation. This can be managed with ice packs. It will certainly not affect your pregnancy. Consult your Doctor.
Hope this helps.
