HPT after IVF

Hey all!  I am new to this forum but so glad I found it.  A little backstory on me,  I am 33 y/o and have turner's syndrome which caused me to go through menopause when I was about 14y/o.  Because of this my ovaries do not function and I have no eggs to release.  My husband and I are in the two week wait after doing IVF with donor eggs.  We got 16 eggs, 10 fertilized.  2 five day blasts were transfered and 4 more were frozen.  The transfer was on 1/23/10.  My clinic has me go in on day 9 after transfer and the wait is driving me nuts.  I am 5 days post transfer now... is is too early to do a hpt???  Will the HCG from 11 days ago cause a false positive???  Ughhh...this wait is the worst...worse than any other part of this whole process....Every twinge of my body I am trying to analyze...but whats to say that it isn't the progesterone and estrogen I am taking....I think my brain might explode!!!!  :)  Good luck to everyone else out there  Baby dust all around!!!  ;)

Ah, but sunshine used donor eggs : )  No trigger shot used : )  So, there is no chance of a false positive. : )      But, I agree, still to early for a reliable negative.

Welcome to the forum! If you had an HCG trigger, it should be out of your system by now (it takes up to 10 days), so you should be safe when it comes to false positives, BUT, like mvh said 5 days past transfer might be a little early. I did a HPT 4 day after my transfer and got a negative...but a few days later, I got a BFP!!! Best of luck with everything!

You can start testing anytime you would like : ) although, 5 days may be a little early... maybe day 7 or 8 past transfer...  Since you used donor eggs, any positive you get will be true! It sounds like you had awesome embies put back!
