are some chemicals dangerous in early pregnancy?

i know that you are suposed to avoid chemicals while pregnant, im not pg yet, but ttc, and currently taking a chemisty class, i know we are going to be dealing with chemicals and such, but will this enviroment be dangerous if i do become pregnant? its a general chemistry class(the required course for nursing) so im not fully aware on how in detail these experiments are going to be, but i just want to be prepared to drop the class until post pregnancy if need be, i know this may sound like a stupid question...sorry=)

Can you have a quiet word with your tutor? Perhaps ask his/her advice? He/she can perhaps research the chemicals you will be working with or maybe give you a list so you can check yourself? Perhaps they would have more knowledge than most on the subject. I imagine lots of chemicals could be potentially harmful as they are to tha un-pregnant human body, I know you will be taking preventative measures against the ones that are anyway but I can imagine you are more "delicate" when pregnant. I know this is probably a poor example but mad things like hormones given off by sheep giving birth are dangerous when pregnant...

Good luck

Good luck with everything :)
Keep me updated as to what she says.
I'm sure she will be more than helpful once your situation is explained.
