beta hcg@79 14 dpo 5dt

hi,

we had 5 embies transferred on july 10th,2009. 2 of which are high quality blasts. we went in for blood test on 24th. the urine test showed a very thin line. blood test gave 79. my doc said she was not satisfied and she has given only 20% chances. this is our second icsi after it failed last year. i am 30 and my DH is 34. any thoughts? is 79 bad?

bad news!! beta fell from 571 to 250. doc said i will miscarry. completely devastated and feeling depressed. dont know what to do

so disapointed. went for the 3rd beta test. it came to only 259. it was 248 earlier. doc wants to do an U/S on monday. could it be bad news? really heartbroken!!! weep weep weep!!!

Don't take my first comment wrong. When I say the DOC aint GOD I mean because the DOC say not good, Dont mea GOD will not bless you with your little one. so CELEBRATE Mommie

we went for the second test. we got 248 as the beta hcg. it tripled from 79. so hopefully this is it.

I think 79 is fine!  My Re said they like it to be at least at 50 for ur first test.  mine was only 27 14p5t then it went to 97  on day 16 (way more than doubled) so they said that was really good... we'll see on tues. when we go in for our 1st u/s.  Good luck!

79 is probably low 15 days post transfer - and your nurese wants to prepare you

I think you may have a singleton.Usually the twins beta starts higher than that. But you may never know.

also another question. bcoz beta is only 79 does it rule out the possibility of twins?

this was our second attempt and therefore they transferred 5. keeping fingers crossed and hoping the beta goes up!

I agree, you should just wait to see what your next beta shows and try to relax.  Why did they transfer 5?

I don't understand why 79 is bad? That is a good first number. The most important thing is for it to double from now on. Don't worry you are good. There have been first beta lower than that and everything have turned out fine. I don't know why your doctor thinks that.Congrats on your pregnancy.Celebrate a little
