On what day of your cycle did you have the tests?

There's no way to know what day because i have not had a period since April 08. The doctor said she thought it was the low pogesterone that has made me miss my period so long.

she gave me progesterone to take for 14 days. to see if my period will start.

Well, your progesterone numbers indicate that you have not ovulated, and without ovulation, you also won't get your period, so the progesterone your doctor prescribed should help your cycles get back on track.

Your estradiol is within the normal range for an anovulatory cycle (or early in a normal cycle).

Your testosterone is also within the normal range, but somewhat elevated. Not sure about free testosterone.

Your SHBG is a little low, but blood glucose is normal, TSH is normal, T3 and T4 are normal, and DHEA is also normal.

what does SHBG do?

I guess it has something to do with the testosterone levels, which makes sense, since your testosterone is also a little high. This is what I found online:

"A SHBG test is primarily ordered to help evaluate the status of a patient’s androgens (male hormones). In women, small amounts of testosterone are produced by the ovaries and adrenal glands. Even slight increases in testosterone production can disrupt the balance of hormones and cause symptoms such as amenorrhea, infertility, acne, and hirsutism. These symptoms and others are often seen with polycystic ovarian syndrome, a condition characterized by an excess production of androgens. SHBG and testosterone testing may be useful in helping to detect and evaluate excess testosterone production and/or decreased SHBG concentrations."

Interesting, well the good part is that i was tested for polycystic ovarian syndrome when they did a ultrasound and the ultrasound was completely normal.
