I just stated taking Metformin to regulate insulin, and hopefully help me ovulate. I took Prometruim (progesterone) last month to help bring on my cycle. If your cycles are irregular, maybe you need something to bring them on, just to get them on track.
I should mention that I when the pcos tests came back negative my family doctor put me on the pill. It worked fot almost two years. Then we decided
to ttc because the pill wasnt working any more either.
About a year and a half to two years before we started ttc my family doctor had me tested for pcos, to see if thats why my periods were so irregular. All the tests were negative. Before my family doctor sent me to the fertility specialist she took a look at my hormone levels and they are fine. While taking prover and serephine my levels peaked at 1.6 and in order to ovulate you need to be at at least a 6. So far I have been offered no reason as to why I have not been able to get pregnant. My husband has even been tested. After the first test our fertility specialist saod his levels were low, but it looked like a stress drop. So they sent him for advance testing. This is what w e go see him for on wednesday. But i find his results a moot point because in my eyes if I am not ovulating it doesnt matter what his results are.
Why did the mentruation stopped? is it coz of PCOS or any other issue? you can share the info if you dont have any problem....
We are ttc. Started almost two years ago. After six months I stopped menstrating and ovulating. First my specialist tried provera snd serephine ( it didnt work) then I was sent for an hsg and my tubes are clear and everything looked good and now I am on just metformin to regulate my insulin to help me ovulate.
Hi,
I dont think Metformin is the cause for your problem. I have used it for more than 3 months and did not have any problem during AF.
I have PCOS and hence metformin was prescribed for insulin resistance.
btw why were you taking metformin?
