estrogen levels after natural FET

hi, my estradiol level is 181, 4 days after a 6 day embryo was transfered.  my doctor wants me to take estrace, but i don't want to.  they said the level is OK.  why would i artificially take estrogen then?  should I?  is there any study that suggests it helps.

i am taking Progesterone in oil shots. 1cc.
thanks
robyn

i wanted to encourage you to stick to your guns.  i am pregnant with my natural FET cycle and i'm convinced that one of the reasons why is because it was natural.  it was so much easier on my body and consequently i had less stress going in.

also, i never took estrace.  and i am fine.  i did wind up doing progesterone shots for 2 weeks then the suppositories.  i wish they are all natural, but they have SLS in them.

anyway, please stay your course and do what is right for you.  i had to battle for the FET as well which didn't make any sense because one of the things i have going for me is a regular cycle and a good lining.

best of luck!

Hi realize you have had your test by now and hope you got a BFP. I too am not interested in taking unnecessary drugs. I actually had to switch from my first RE because they refused to do my FET on a natural cycle. They insisted that I do it by 1st suppressing the ovaries with bc's then Lupron, then estrogen, then PIO's. I asked why if I had perfect lining, regular ovulation, and normal 28-30 day cycles? When the nurse said because they wouldn't know when to do the transfer without all of that I knew I had to go somewhere else. So we paid to get our little ones and took them in a fancy cryopreservation tank to a new RE who is wonderful and whose nurse told me the only reason a clinic won't do a natural cycle is because they want you on their schedule, they don't want to be on ours.

Our plan is to do the OPK's twice daily to find the surge and then have an ultrasound and then transfer. No drugs at all. The RE said he suggests estrogen and progesterone but is completely fine if we don't want it.

I began to question myself on the estrogen and progesterone but its only because I wonder if I'll say "what if" if its a BFN. At the end of the day though I know there is no exact science with this and that the RE's and research sometimes show conflicting evidence of what works better, what has what side effects etc. I know if I actually had issues with lining or luteal phase I would take supplements. I would however take natural progesterone from they yam, not the synthetic.

Will they monitor your E2 on a regular basis?  If so, I would tell them you want to hold off unless it becomes medically necessary. It is very understandable why you wouldn't want to take it. When do they do your beta? I get mine on Friday. I already did several home tests and got a bfp 5 days after 5 day transfer. I didn't do an Hcg shot though.

well, the reason i don't want to take estrogen is because i am a DES baby as it is.  meaning my mom took estrogen (thought to be safe and prevent miscarriage) but it caused all sorts of problems in the daughters born to mothers who took it.  it says right on the bottle not to take estrace when pregnant.  if i don't need it, i don't want to take it.  what they think is "safe" today, they may realize is not tomorrow.  i know you can drive yourself crazy over-analyzing all off this, but why take meds when you don't need them?

i did an natural FET which the doctor was open too but also wants to keep pushing me on meds.  i did the trigger shot of HCG just so he would know i was ovulating even though i was going in there everyday and we could have just stayed the course and trusted the natural cycle of the body.   with estrace, i already cleared it with him and he agreed, it wasn't necessary but "wouldn't hurt".  i guess if no one can give me a reason why it will help, i don't know why i would take it when my concern is maybe it will hurt.

baby boys are being born with smaller you-know-whats because of all the extra estrogen in our environment.  (xeno-estrogens in plastics and lotions, etc.)  i actually feel good about this natural FET, so much better than a fresh IVF when my body had not recovered from the meds and the surgery, and i just want to do everything i can to stay healthy.  so my baby can be born healthy too.

I don't know what my levels are. But, I am on 4ea .1 estrogen patches every other day and 2cc PIO.  They did a blood draw and checked my levels the day of transfer and said they were in range with the meds. I have to stay on them until 10-12wks. With how long it took to get to this point, I can't imagine not taking the meds to insure the levels stay healthy. I know everyone is different. I would discuss it with your dr and get an answer you are comfortable with.

I couldn't answer your questions but I believe estrace pills help the linning thicker to maintain the pregnancy.  You don't have to take any medicine if you're not willing to do so.  Just keep in mind, the doctors just want to help us to achieve the positive outcome.  You should discuss to your doctor about this
I wish you best luck, and BFP.
