I m in CT. AND self employed. It just became a law that they had to cover 2 cycles IF the company isn't self insured. DHs company is so we got me insurance through Anthem.
which state are you in? I am in CA whic most insurance won't cover a thing.
my RE's office does a root cause analysis so to speak (more like a what went wrong/right pow-wow with all the drs) once a week. it helps them bounce things off one another and figure best plan of attack,
ALSO - check with your RE office - they may participate in the No Risk IVF program. i think we may do that as an option for financing.
I am not sure what it is called, I can ask DH, but the premium is pretty high, $400 a month, but if we get preggo before the year is up we will cancel it. AND it is still cheaper than IVF.
May I ask which IVF insurance plan you purchased from Anthem? How much is the monthly premium?
I have a feeling, and this is just a feeling that they DO analize everything but behind the scenes. They will do different things for you next time to make it even better. My first failed as well, I am in my second attempt right now and we changed 2 things. This time I am going to take more Gonal F to produce more follicles and we are going to use fresh and frozen sperm instead of just frozen.
We ended up purchasing additional insurance for me as my hubbys insurance didn't cover IVF. I am self employed so I purchased Anthem. They cover 2 cycles. It is expensive, but not as much as IVF.
Good luck to you!
Heather
My first IVF attempt failed. My doc didn't mention anything about a "root cause analysis" report of our failed IVF attempt. He said that he had no idea why it didn't take the first time and we're doing a fresh cycle now.
