clomid users please help!!

Hey girls I'm currently using clomid and I have many questions. Hope someone knows!
1 Can you actually tell if you ovulate by the twinges in your ovaries or do you constantly get the twinges and is therefore impossible to tell?
2 Is you AF delayed w/ clomid?

3 Does your temperature rise the same way w/ clomid after ovulation or is it different?

4 Do you ovulate earlier or later w/ clomid?

Sorry for asking too many questions but unfurtunately they don't sell "clomid for dummies" or i would be the first one in line to buy the book!

Not sure why your doc put you on such a high dose.  Usually you start on 50mg and then do a day 21 progesterone test to see if it works.  From what my doctor has told me...you really don't produce any more follicles with a higher dose.  But, some women only respond to the higher dose.  I did 50 for many months and ovulated just fine.  I have also done 100 and didn't see a rise in my progesterone...

I would call your doctor and talk to him about it.  You could always just take 50mg (1 pill), go for the BW and see what happens.  You don't want to over stimulate your ovaries.  Hope this helps.

Hello everyone,
I'm new here, and I was just searching through forums out of curiosity. I'm starting Clomid mid-April, and my doctor put me on 150mg/day dosage. From what I can see based on everyone's posts, it seems really high... for a first round. I'm 29, and have been diagnosed with "unexplained infertility." Blood work came back with LH to FSH ratio of 3:1, and that's all the testing I've gotten done so far. I'm starting to get really nervous about those side effects because of the seemingly high dosage I'm getting. I'm also a teacher, and I don't want my kids to suffer from some crazy moods.  I'm hoping maybe somebody else was on the same dosage as me? Thanks a lot!

I just finish up my 6th round of clomid...never got preg., but I did ovulate.  The answer brand test are the most accurate to me.  I still had my temp spike and everything.  I really hope clomid works for you.  I really did not have any major side effects besides really bad night sweats so I would invest in a really good fan!  Good luck!

I'll try to answer your questions.  I did have twinges while using clomid around days 15-16 which was around ovulation time (got positive OPK on day 15).  AF was definitely late by about 4 days and much heavier.  I normally ovulate around day 12 so ovulation was definitely delayed for me.  I do not chart my temps so I cannot answer your 3rd question.  I hope this helps....

I'm also on 50 mg of Clomid days 4-8.  I have 2 pills left and I have to admit I'm not really loving them...I also have had headaches and maybe a hot flash or 2 but I don't think so. I take them at night before I go to bed.  This is my first cycle so I'm not sure about ovulation or af.  I do know that I was told to start OPK 3 days after my last pill.  I'm also using the answer brand.  They are cheap so I already started doing the OPK's.  I don't want to miss anything..good luck to you!

I have some questions that some of you may be able to answer or relate too. I do not have periods without taking progesterone. I am on cycle one of  50 mg of clomid (5-9) now. I have been using OPKs and they have not shown a LH surge but I think I have noticed changes in my cervical mucus.  Could I have ovulated and it just didn't show on the OPK? I'm also cramping something fierce on day 16. Is this common on clomid? It seems like such a long time to start getting cramps this late having finished the pills on day 9. I have had horrible headaches, tenderness, breakouts and extreme hot flashes. I am frustrated because I seem to have all of the horrible side effects from clomid but no LH surge. Can OPK kits be wrong? I feel very frustrated at this point.

Hi! This is the first month on clomid. My experience on it so far has been few twinges around my ovaries around the 14 day of my cycle but when I went in for an u/s to see if I O on the 14th day my dr said I didn't and she said that the twinges can be that I am getting ready to O. As far as O I have read that you can O aware from day 10 - 17 (and per my dr). Although, some people still don't O and need a higher dose. And for you AF I am not sure when it will come (late, early, or on time)but I have heard it is lighter and shorter than normal because of the clomid.

Hi! I have been on clomid in the past.I cannot tell u abt the twinges as my doc had prescribed it to me even though i was ovulating naturally. But with clomid i did ovulate late and my af was delayed.Infact in one of the cycles on clomid my cycle got as long as 36 days instead of the 25 days which i normally have. Also the bleeding was very light.I stopped taking clomid from the next cycle onwards as i hated the side-effects i had. These included abdominal cramps, stomach upset, skin eruptions and mood swings.Hope this helps.

I am also on Clomid - so good luck!  This is the second time I've used - I conceived my son the last time I used it (3 1/2 years ago).  I got pregnant on the 1st month last time.  I am currently on my 3rd round...  As far as your questions.  I would suggest taking the at home ovulation tests you can get at the store.  I have found that the 'Answer' brand was the best.  I found a package of 20 for about $20 at CVS.  I would start taking them about 5 days from your last Clomid pill - & just chart it.  As far as ovulating late on Clomid - the last three months for me have all been different.  The 1st month I ovulated early - 2nd month late - & this month I have gotten a positive ovulation result for the past 6 days (which is weird).  I think it can be different every month.  Sometimes I can feel aching in my ovaries when I ovulate - and sometimes I don't.  I think if you start taking the ovulation tests - it'll take the guess work out of it for you.  Good Luck!
