12 DPO and still a negative HPT...Finally feeling like I am breaking down.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time joining a forum?message board.  My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 9 months now with no luck.  I am currently 12 dpo and had another negative hpt this morning.  I have generally regular 31 day cycles, and ovulated on the 5th of this month (Oct).  We made sure that we had sex before and during the positive ovulation result.  I believe that I had what was possible implantation bleeding Wednesday night (the 14th), the tiniest bit Thursday (the 15th), and another tiny bit on Friday (the 16th).  The spotting was redish brown and was so tiny that I should not even mention it.  It has since stopped.  My breasts have absolutely increased in size without the normal pain that I get before my period.  I am also at the beginning of a cold (got to love New England Fall).  After the negative test this morning I just broke down.  I feel so irritable and emotion.  I want honest opinions out there of what the chances are that I could still be pregnant this time around.  I appreciate any imput that you are all able to give.  My period is due Tuesday.  Thank you all so much for reading my issues/babbling.

Baby Dust to you are.

Good Morning!

I have been using FRER and still have a negative :(  I took another OPK this morning and it was positive again.  The test line was as dark as the control line which is exactly how it was when I was ovulating.  This is soooo confusing!  Maybe there just isn't enough HCG yet???

You're definitely not Oing at 12 dpo. But you could be pg. I still say get a FRER test. Can you get one tomorrow? Was the line on the OPK as dark or darker than the control line? OPKs do pick up hCg, so maybe you are pregnant and the pregnancy test you used wasn't sensitive enough. What brand did you use? Whatever you do, do not use CVS HPTs!!! They give tons of false positives! A woman here said she used her DH's pee and the CVS test came out positive! Isn't that terrible?!? Test again in the morning with a FRER and let us know what happens.

Good Luck!!!

OK Girls...

So after coming across a few online threads regarding using a OPT as a HPT...I have to admit I was curious.  I still had some "Answer" ovulation strips left and took one.  Well...according to that I am ovulation now.  So weird...

I am 12 dpo...and now I am ovulating?  Maybe I am broken...Any thoughts???

Thank you all so much for your encouragement!  It truly helps knowing other people are having similar experiences.

hopefulmiranda, I am so sorry for your losses.  I have had the unfortunate experience of 3 miscarriages myself, but those were 5-7 years ago.  Sometimes things are just so hard.  I am sending hugs and Baby Dust your way!

kmcarino, waiting is my hardest thing...not just with this but in life lol.  My poor saint of a husband!

Sue I am in Shrewsbury right outside of Worcester.  So you are right there with me in this crazy NE Fall!  Was it just me or did we not wake up to snow yesterday morning???!!!  I know it mustve been my active imagination!  lol  I hope you feel better soon!!!

Thank you all again for the encouragement and feedback!   So much baby dust to you all.

I think you have a really good shot of being pregnant. That bleeding, since it was brown, sounds like implantation bleeding. It's always either brown or light pink. Often women get a positive test 2 days after implantation, but sometimes it can take 3 or 4 days. I say test again tomorrow or 14 dpo. Use a FRER test (First Response) people swear by them. They are very sensitive, easy to read, and accurate.

I live in Brookline. Where do you live? Talk about colds and NE Falls! I am still getting over a horrid cold that took me out of work for 4 days. Blech.

Hey, good luck. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

I definitely agree that there is still hope that you are pregnant:)  It is a great sign that you had some bleeding.  Do you normally have a little bleeding liek that before af comes?  It sounds liek implantation bleeding to me.  I have had it once.  I would test again in two days when you are 14dpo, or wait until Tuesday if you can wait that long.  Baby dust to you!

hi there, it's still early to test, specially if your cycle fays are long. I've gotten false negatives twice before and it was because i tested early. The first time I tested at cycle day 25 and it was negative then tested again on cycle day 28 and got I positive. Unfortunately I miscarried a  week later. The second time I tested before cycle day 30 and got all negatives until I finally tested on cycle day 30 and got a positive which ended being an ectopic :( i was on clomid for both cycles and had an IUI for the second one.....but remember that it takes 6-12 days for the embryo to implant after fertilization. So cheer up, there's still hope, you tested to early and also remember that most test only detect hcg levels of 50 and up. If you test again in a few days buy first response or clear blue those detect at hcg levels of 25 and up....Good luck to you!!!
