home pregnancy test after ivf possibly correct?

I did egg retrieval on 6/10.  ovidrel(hcg)shot on 6/8.  blastocyst transfer on 6/15.  i know they tell you not to take a home test, but i couldn't help myself.  I thought maybe if i took one every couple of days, the results might be more accurate.  i took a test 6/18 was negative.  today 6/21  tested positive.  Is it even possible?

OMG- I had my transfer on Sunday 01/23 as well. My blood test is scheduled for 02/04/11 too. Small world- ha ha. I took off work that Monday and Tuesday, so that was a total of 3 days of relaxation. Hopefully that helped.  They put 2 embryos back in, both were grade 1 and looked excellent. As far as how I am feeling, I have been extremely tired, boobs hurting, cramping, STARVING, but no bleeding/spotting. I am currently on 2 estrogen patches and progesterone shots nightly. So it is really hard to tell if these are actual symptoms or if they are just side effects of all these hormones. I have not taken any pregnancy tests yet, just bc I do not want to be devastated by a negative. But I am not sure if I can hold out till Friday. But yall are definitely right, A LOT of people get negatives and then go for blood and get positives. So I def think both of you still have 100% great chance. Hopefully God will bless all 3 of us with a wonderful pregnancy. Loads of baby dust...

That's funny that we have all the same days and both are runners! I have been feeling the same way, and I took a HPT this morning and it was negative also. I have been near obsessing about what may or may not be pregnancy symptoms. I started a log about what I feel each day so that when/if I try again I know remember what it felt like. There was a woman on this forum that said she got all negative HPT and still got a positive blood test, so stay hopeful. I have to admit it is a little comforting knowing that other people are going thru this with me. Keep in mind, they wait 12+ days for the blood test for a reason, and the blood test is more accurate than HPT. (My husband keeps reminding me of that). I feel discouraged too. I'll keep you in my prayers, we'll have to let each other know how friday goes too. Good Luck

Hi Runnergirl5 - llike your name...I'm a runner too AND I had transfer the SAME day as you.  We're looking at day 9 today and I took a pg test this morning and it was negative.  I'm hopeful the blood test will say differently.  Mine is scheduled the same day as you : Feb 4th!! I've been going crazy out of my mind trying not to obsess over every little detail but so far I feel nothing. I don't feel pregnant at all. I felt more pregnant when I first started the progesterone shots but the last couple of days I don't feel any differently!!  It's making me very discouraged.  Only a few more days now and if this doesn't work I'm really not sure I can handle going through this again!!!  Lots of baby dust to all those waiting out there!!! Good luck!

That happen to me but it was my 9th day after the transfer and it came up neg. But did my beta three days later and my level was 33.4 went back 2days later and it was 99 so sometimes the hpt is wrong I guess that's why they tell us not to do a hpt. I hope all goes well.

Hi

I had 2 ectopics and that's why I've had ivf done. I think god forbid something happen I will have the tube removed. It is emotionally draining and expensive to do. But hopefully this little one sticks!
