home pregnancy test after ivf possibly correct?

I did egg retrieval on 6/10.  ovidrel(hcg)shot on 6/8.  blastocyst transfer on 6/15.  i know they tell you not to take a home test, but i couldn't help myself.  I thought maybe if i took one every couple of days, the results might be more accurate.  i took a test 6/18 was negative.  today 6/21  tested positive.  Is it even possible?

It depends on the doctors score how they report it.  Mine does higher number but my son was a 19 and they said anything under a 20 was a false positive.  But i see some people on here say they got an 8 and that was great so I think there may be two ways to report this.  If you live anywhere near memphis i can refer you to a great doctor.  They are awsome here and more affordable then most.  I hope it turns around for you or pray that you have the strength and ability to give it a second try.... if you do have frozen there is a bit of good news... they have a higher success rate. *hugs*

Hello all, I am 30 - transferred 2 blastocysts (1st time IVF) on the 27th Dec and doc said he was very positive as everything seems to be fine. Couldn't resist so I did a test on 31st Dec which is 4 day post Day 5 transfer. BFN.

I started spotting (brown blood) on the 2nd and spent the entire day googling this and the only consolation I could give myself is that it could "possibly" be implantation bleeding.

I did a test yesterday (3rd Jan, 7 day post Day 5 transfer) and it was another BFN. So I pushed forward the doctor's appt today and she was reluctant to even test my blood saying HPTs are very accurate and that any spotting after an IVF is not good.

She finally relented and allowed me to do my blood test because I told her I needed closure. The clinic is supposed to call this evening and I am still praying for a miracle with what hope and energy I have left.

IVF is so much more emotional I think. I have been feeling and looking pregnant for what feels like weeks with the bloated tummy and the reduced pace in walking etc, and have gotten quite happy with rubbing my belly....suddenly you wake up and realise it was not real.

I don't know what to do to kill time whilst I want for THE call.

Good luck to everyone who still has hope Xx

It was a fresh transfer with an egg donor. I don't WANT to stop my progestrone and estrogen. Do have a friend that is a lab tech and I could possibly go get some more BW done in 2 to 4 days. I just didn't know if it was a lost cause and I was being unreasonable... Knowing you have your son now makes me think I'm not crazy. Were your #'s as low as mine?

was this a fresh or frozen transfer?  I would ask for another test in two days.  My first transfer did the same thing and they told me it was a false positive but went ahead and did the test 2 days later and the numbers went up.... my son is now 2
