Hi usuk--w/ follistim/menopur were you also taking lupron? I'm on all three (follistim/menopure/lupron). I'm going to be so upset if it's cancelled : ( I recently found out my mom had early menopause (age 46) and I'm 40 so every month counts
my estrogen climbed well with follistim/menopur. but when i did a cycle with follistim/lupron my follie growth stalled compeltely and then my estrogen nosedived. so it was cancelled.
they just want to give you a boost i would think.
Anyone else have an adjustment in meds (due to low estrogen) and end up w/ a successful pregnancy?
Thank you so much. I was really worried. I've had three unsuccessful iuis but they never had to adjust my meds--I thought maybe everything is just going downhill...
I can't give you a normal range but I will say that it is quite normal to have meds adjusted after first checked. When I got my first call, the nurse prefaced the change in dose with, "Don't worry. You're fine. We just want to up the dose to get your level a little higher." of course I still worried and asked what was wrong. She said REs choose a dose to start that they think will be good but depending on how you respond, they tweak here and there to get it just right. That's the beauty of the process. Constant checking gives the RE a chance to adjust as needed unlike when you take Clomid and just wait til the near end and hope everything worked correctly. I know it's hard to relax and not worry, but really... RELAX and don't worry :-)
