Prochieve 8%

Hi, I am new to this website but it seems so nice to get some of these feelings out!! I have been married for 5 years and trying to get pregnant for about 3 1/2 years. I finally started seeing a fertility specialist and they started me off on clomid (50mg) a month until I went up to 250 mg a day. The next step was the injectibles (Gonal R-ff Pen 900 IU and the Ovidrel previlled syringes) I did an IUI on 5-25 and started Prochieve 8% three days later. The doctor said that Prochieve 8% might delay my period, but I am not sure how long? I am currently at cycle day 29 and no AF yet?? Does anyone have any clue as to how long it actually delays a period . . . I don't want to take a pregnancy test yet because I am so so scared and worried, I am hoping that I am :-)

Thanks a Bunch!!!!
Amy

My name is Shelly, I've had 3 miscarraiges in the last 2 years. I'm 6 weeks along and my Doc put me on prochieve. I'm worried cause  I have no morning sickness and do not feel pregnant.  Does anyone have any input for me.

I started taking Prochieve after I was diagnosed with low progesterone. Luckily after two months on prochieve, I am now 7 weeks pregnant...still nervous since I have had one miscarriage.  I was wondering, if anyone else has experieced purplish clumping discharge due to the prochieve? I was worried that I had started miscarrying, the Dr. took an ultrasound and found a heart beat but we're still not in the clear. I'm just wondering if this purplish clumping has happened to anyone else???

Really great to hear from people who are on the same boat as me. I took clomid this month and mistakenly started taking Prochieve 8 earlier than needed, day 12. I've read that Prochieve could act as a spermicide so I think I just killed all the sperms my husband provided :(. My doctor told me to continue with prochieve and I am on day 28 today and still don't have my period. I took the pregnancy test yesterday and it turn out to be negative so I guess we did not get lucky again this month. I am hoping still for a miracle and that the pregnancy test was a false negative. I am also curious to know  how long does prochieve delay your period.
I hope you can write back about the results of your pregnancy test. Good Luck!

I have not gone through what you are experiencing, but if you count the days from 5/25 you would be like 15 dpo (I know it is called something else with IUI) or close to that number. I think if you are pregnant the test "should" show positive.  Please if I am wrong someone correct me, like I said I don't know much at all about IUI and injectibles.  Or could you get a blood test ordered by your doctor?

I couldn't not test, it would drive me crazy wondering.....if you decide to test let us know what the results are!! Good luck

Hi Aisha. . . . . It's nice knowing that you are not the only person going through a difficult period in your life. I was on clomid for a very long time and the doctor said that I did not even respond to it at all. The injectibles were the Gonal rff Pen 900 IU, I started with 75 units for four days then I went up to 150 a day. I then took the Ovidrel and waited for an ultrasound to check for folliciles and they said that I had two that were "ready" for an IUI, I did my IUI on 5-25 and am waiting, and the wait is killing me. I am tempted to take a pregnancy test but my husband is pushing me to wait it out. I hope all goes well with you, the injectibles are so much stronger that is why I have high hopes for you. The only thing with my situation is that I don't have a normal cycle (I have to take Provera to start a period) and the doctor told me that I will get my period on my own (if I am not pregnant) because of the medication. I am now cycle day 30, no period yet but that could be the Prochieve 8% which delays the onset of a period. Well, I hope all goes very well with you, and I recommend you do the IUI, it puts you more at ease :-)

Keep me posted & Good Luck!!!!

I couldn't wait so I tested this morning, and I am not too sure about the results. There is a faint second line along with the solid first line?? The pregnancy test said it doesn't matter if there are darker lines and fainter lines, but I am still not sure. I am going to take a blood test on Monday if AF doesn't arrive first. Wishing for good news . . . . . .

HI AMY THIS IS AISHA,were the same situation ,i been married for almost 5 yrs now and still trying to get pregnant ,i never had a M/C prblem .and never get preggo even once ,never .I started saying the OB since 2005,and still no success ,but my first fertility was the clomid ,and then i have incoming  Gonal F this next period which is mixed with ampules ,but since im waiting for my period this month i dont know yet what is the side effect of injectibles thing ,which is the Gonal f. did you feel cramps or pain after the injections ,i have 5 dys straight injection to be ,on the day 3 of my period ,and then i will get appointment on day 8 ,is that the same of yours?how many days did you take your gonal f injections .
The doctor told me this is very stronger ,and because clomid wont work on me much ,thats why she puts me on injectibles ..I wanted to have an IUI after this but we will see because my follies was so small .and it wont increase the size after i took the clomid 150mg per cycle ..

Pls dont be discourage and were all the same ,i knew its gonna hurting us ,waiting and waiting ...and test is negative ..

Hope God will bless us with Baby this year ..

thanks .

I'm sorry, I have never taken prochieve, so I don't know how long it can delay AF.  Have you had any symptoms?  Do you have an appt with the dr to take a pg test?

I'm a tester... I can never hold out.  I dred the bad news, but just can't help myself... For me I think it helps tho.  Once I know I'm not pg, then I can let it go and start planning for the next cycle.  But we're all different.

Either way, best of luck to you.  Keep us posted.
