I had never had my levels checked before this pregnancy.  Dr. said that they can't be checked before you're pregnant. This pregnancy I was already on prog. and asked for my levels to be checked and they did, but at my appt. afterwards they told me that since I was already on the supp. that it really didn't show a correct number.  So no, I wasn't on them for low levels, I've had 4 miscarriages, no reason why, so this was kind of a last option and so far so good - 11 wks. tomorrow!  And I really don't think you can get them without Dr. order, I  pick them up at the pharmacy, they have to make them there everytime I call in another order.

If you take the progesterone before ovulation, it will stop ovulation, it just won't happen.  Like leighanne143 said, you wait 3 days after the LH surge, you have to use some type of ovulation monitor or the little pea strips so you know when it happens.  this last time that I got pregnant and was tired of doing all of that, I didn't really know when I ovulated, I had an idea, but not the exact day of the peak of it, you know?  So I waited until I had a positive pregnancy test and started them that day.  I was concerned that it was too late and the Dr. said that that was perfectly fine to do it that way.  If you start taking the progesterone in the middle of the ovulation, that will mess it up too.  Also, you have to stop taking it when your period starts or it can mess up ovulation for the next month.  And, I've been on progesterone for six months and my period has always started on time even when I was on the progesterone, I didn't have to get off of it for my period to start. But I have read more that one girl say that the progesterone would delay their period. And last but not least, start taking the baby asprin now and don't stop until the Dr. thinks you're far enough into the pregnancy to stop it, he might not take you off of it.

i had 2 MC's and my doctor put  me on progesterone and baby aspirin.  I had to start usign the prog 3 days after my LH surge, so that means 3 days after a positive ovulation test.  then you use them until you get a BFP or your period is due.  if you do not get your period or a BFP, then you need to go in for bloodwork and the doctor will let you know if it is okay to stop the progesterone so your period will come.  and you start the baby aspirin immediately.  why 75mgs??? i thought they only come in 81mgs?

but you should call your doctor and ask them how you should use the prog because he might only want you to use it after a BFP but my fertility specialist thinks it should be used before to assure your uterus linign is strong.

Those are usually taken after your pregnancy test is positive. I don't think you need them now. I started using them both after i got pregnant.Ask you doctor if you're not sure of when using them.
