1st Beta Test...what next???

Hi-

I had my first Beta today and they called me and said my progesterine level was over 20.  I assume that number is good from what I have read but I thought a Beta test was to measure the HCG level.  I'm confused as to what to expect and what I should be looking for?

Any input that would be great!

Your right, I believe it wasn't.  I'm glad to hear that an over 20 progesterone level is a good number to start with.  Do you think it'll be okay to take a pregnancy test or will I risk getting a false positive?  I had the HCG trigger shot on 2/23 and I took a pregnancy test on 2/27 and it was positive but I kind of expected it to be since I'm sure the HCG was still in my system.  Now that it is 9 days later will I be risking a false positive result if I test again?

Best of luck to you!

Congratulations!  I don't think it was a Beta test either but that is what they had told me from my prior appointment but when the nurse called me today she gave me my progesterone level.  This is my first go around and still trying to figure out what all the numbers and termonology mean.  I am scheduled to take my pregnancy test on 3/11.
Congrats on the great news!

I don't think it was a beta. It was a levels check. You go in so they can check your progesterone to make sure its at correct level to maintain pregnancy.  20 is an awesome #.
I bet those embies are implanting right now........ Good Luck.

Hm - that's interesting.  I had my first Beta today as well and they called and told me that I'm pregnant!  They said the next step is to come in on Monday and test again and make sure my hcg levels are doubling.  Did you ask them more about this on the phone?
