I definitely know how everyone feels. It's taken 10 years, and multiple doctors before I was diagnosed with FMS. I am 40 years old and I suffer with the worse type of memory loss, which they call it FMS fog. But they don't know how it happens and why. They haven't discovered FMS thus far. I am falling down again. My legs constantly goes limp, my feet constantly goes numb, so does my hands. Its a struggle everyday to just get out of bed, but I do it. If I don't take my ambien I will be up all night and day. It doesn't help that I am also bipolar. I was diagnosed with that in 2004. About the same time that I was also diagnosed with FMS.
You are definitely, correct. You are not alone. FMS from my perspective gets worse. The medicines they give you will only be recycled when they no longer work. I'm at that stage now. I've taken lyrica, when it first came out. I've taken cymbalta for a while, when it was first introduced, and Gabapentin. Now I am just recycling my meds as well as receiving pain management. It's a constant struggle because this disease has not fully been examined yet.
I hope this helps. Just take it one day at a time.
I was on Lyrics, Cymbalta, Maxlat (migranes) and Topamax. I did feel much better on them, but my hubby and I are trying for baby #2 (we're struggling w/ that too, starting a fertility med this month... wish us luck) so I had to come off of the meds. Lyrics was wonderful!!!! About a week after I started it, I wok up and could stand straight up, I started crying b/c I NEVER thought i'd see a day w/o pain. I tried Ambien, and it made me SOOO SICK, I threw up for what seemed like forever. I'm really trying to watch my meds and all of that b/c we're trying to get pregnant. It's just frusterating, ya know? I feel bad b/c my husband will say he's tired and i'm thikin.... TIRED? lol... I just thank God that I can stay home with my son, so I am able to rest some. I try to sleep, but when i'm still for a long time, it hurts. Like if I lay on one side for 30 mins, my hip hurts so I have to flip over. Thanks ladies for listening to me and giving me advice. I'm just frusterated right now.. it's been rough lately. I'll keep you all posted and let me know how yall are doin!

Linda gave you some really good advice. Lyrica does work well. Also I have heard that melatonin also helps with sleep. You can find it at wal-mart and I would imagine other pharmacies. I am on a sleeping pill (Ambien) it does work well, however I am trying to get off of it
My lack of strength is in my hands also. Not fun, especially with a baby.
Another thing is do you stretch in the morning. Believe me I have the same problem and stretching is not easy. Even if you only do it for 10mins it will help.
Keep us posted
Good Luck and God Bless

Sorry you are having such pain. I too get migraines daily. I am too weak to lift things and was hurting everyday. You need to get good sleep. Take a sleeping pill if you can. Try and get a script for Lyrica to help with the pain. It is really awful. I am on it now and it really helps. Doesn't work for everyone, but it's worth a try. I felt like you did and now feel much better.
Good luck and keep posting, it helps to have others who understand.
