I test negative for a uti but I feel like I ahve one, I have major blaadder spasms and I thurts really bad..I feel like I have to go all the time. I go through this about once amonth or so. My doctor went back to Canada so now my new dr. is not into the fibromyalgia . He seems to think its all in my head. So im looking for a new Dr. but im not sure if the urinary thing is related to the fibromyalgia or not. Do any of you have any urinary issues?

HI,  I have been diagnosed with Fibro for abt 12yrs. Even tho I did not show positive response to all of the pressure points, I still have various symptoms that point to it and test negative for Arthritis. I don't think mine is as severe as many seem to be and it is not consistant. Just wanted to comment on the Bladder and Endometriosis/Bladder.
I've had Bladder problems since my mid twenties,  also had Endometriosis and a complete hysterectomy at age 46.  Sorry to say, i still have problems with burning/ frequent urination ( mostly at night  ) feeling of pressure but often test negative for bacterial infection. I have not seen a Urologist for quite some time. Am not on meds for it . I also have Diabetes which from what I read can also cause bladder problems and frequent urination. so at this point its hard to determine just what is  the cause.... now.
I believe the last Urologist I saw ( a good 15-20 yrs ago ) came up with the idea that i had   Varicose Veins  in my bladder, something I still question as had many exams in years prior to that and it was never mentioned.  I don't think he had a clue as to what was wrong.
Now, i wonder if it is Intersistial Cystitis but since there is no infection will just live with it I guess. If you are like me , you can often tell by the look of you urine ( with casts, cloudy/ pus etc. ) if there is an infection , except by that time, it usually needs meds to clear it up.
I have found one herbal med that seems to work if i get rite on it and that may be why nothing shows up in the lab tests. I'm not sure if the board rules here will allow me to name it  but you can go to the site  Drbobmartin.com and find it.  It is carried in some health stores.
Good Luck in finding a diagnosis and cure.

I went through a period where I had urinary frequency and urgency.  It has subsided a bit now, but it was horrible having to feel I couldn't go out anywhere.  Very annoying.

They do have medication that can help with the frequency, if it's really bad, but it won't do anything for the pain.  Endometrosis is often something women with FMS tend to have.  If you haven't seen your OBGYN lately, you may want to schedule for a check-up.  Since you indicate you go through this once a month, there may be a connection.

I hope you feel better soon.  Take care.

Yes,
Here is a web site about it: http://chronicfatigue.about.com/od/whyfmscfsarelinked/a/ICbladderpain.htm

Interstitial cystitis (IC) is abdominal or pelvic pain related to your bladder getting full, often accompanied by other urinary symptoms, but with no infection or other obvious diseases. The cause of PBS/ICS is unknown.

I believe that this doctor is doing research on Fibromyalgia and looking into info on him might give you some more information on this.  Muhammad B. Yunus.
