HI Diane.

I'm sorry you're going through all this, but soon it will get better.
And we're all here to learn and help.

Medhelp does not allow to post links, however, this would constitute legitimate exception:

Just copy and paste.

We all had to start from scratch. Not to worry about it.
Feel free to post anytime and you may also message me anytime as well.
Just go with your cursor over my name in blue, which opens my profile box and hit Send message.

Have a great day!

Thanks for writing back I am tapering off with the help of my Dr I was taking them every other day for a week then finished last Friday but Sunday night was terrible for me. Hoping that was the worst of it  this having the hot flash feeling but they are less often now .  Fibromalgia  is something I would like to know more about natural choices as I often have trouble with meds  with side effects I seem to be very sensitive to. Meds and any times I'm told told you shouldn't be having those sideeffects so soon after starting something  makes me feel like they think I'm making it up. I'm NOT thrived to find your post on fibro but couldn't.  Still new to all of this   What are some natural choices ?  Just having you write back makes me feel not so alone    Thank you .   Diane

Hi Diane.

I see that you must have ongoing balance issues, while on Cymbalta-for posting again.

Cymbalta side effects which may pertain to this are:

*Common - dizziness
*Rare- orthostatic hypotension  (specially at the start )

Cymbalta belongs to a class of drugs called Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs)
These drugs act as inhibitors of the reuptake (re-absorption)  of the neurotransmitter Serotonin by the originating neuron. (neurotransmitters send messages from one neuron to the next neuron), thus making more serotonin available for the neurons and other nerve cells.

So, in the event that Cymbalta -after the initial "break-in" period of about 3-6 weeks- still presents serious unwanted side-effects, it must be weaned off with the help of an MD, to avoid serious withdrawal symptoms/discontinuation syndrome.

As an alternative, you may consider natural herbal   SNRIs, which have a better safety record without many side effects, nor dependency issues.

Let me know, if interested in exploring this further.

I have also started a thread under "IWILLDOTHIS" a while back, with many suggestions to help deal with Fibromyalgia. Just do a search here (top right of page MedHelp search box or top left-  Fibromyalgia search magnifier icon )

Best wishes.
