I just figured out I have fiber myalgia which included and definitely not limited to neurological pain, I just found a doctor who actually takes my insurance and who believes in fiber myalgia! I have my first appointment with him tomorrow (of January 2017 on the 26th at 2:30pm) hopefully he can help me with this chronic pain and diagnosis me for what I know through years of research and my mom and grandma have fiber myalgia but live in California and I can't go see there to see their doctors! I live in Kent, Ohio in portage county but the only doctor coukd find to help me is in Uniontown, Ohio! I here lyrica is great for fibromyalgia and so is oxcarbazpine is good too! So hopefully I'm finally gonna get this pain taken care of!! Wish me luck. Also please tell me if any of you know a good fiber myalgia doctor in Kent or Ravenna city/ portage county area that coukd help me. It would highly appreciated! I have a 2 year boy who only has me as his whole village ( I have zero family around to help me,i do occasionally have him on a playdate with my friends two year old and we go to story time at Kent free library every day, but these last 4 you months I have in so much pain that my son is like "who us thus lady constantly laying around who won't throw me up and catch me or chase me?" It breaks my heart!! Much luck to all of you suffering through this terrible, painful, fiber myalgia, that is inherited, disease!!
I'm doing pretty good.
All the years I put in training, studying and researching have paid-off big time!
It feels really great, when you know, you're on the right path.
I do hope things work out for you.

Hi! I did try Savella for awhile but had no results that were very noticeable.
My ms doc said this Oxcarbazepin may help nerve pain. I am at half the lowest dose, twice a day. It makes me tired is just abt all I notice. And perhaps a relaxing of some areas always tense, neck traps, jaw, head, etc etc, plan to give it a long try because I can't stand daily 3-8 pain/ tough.
How R u doing?
Hope you R well and have people around you who make u smile.
Hi Nicky.
I guess Savella was not for you after all, right?
Neurologists tend to prescribe oxcarbazepine more than other doctors, since it is primarily an AED (anti-epileptic drug), however, it is often used to control pain.
It seems that AEDs work on a wider target area over the neurological system's presentations of epilepsy, depression and pain.
I really couldn't tell, if it will help with Fibro pain, because it is hard to foretell how and if it has the ability to tame this type of pain.
And it will take a few months to reach the effective dose.
I hope you have good communication with your prescribing/treating doctor, You are likely starting with the smallest dose probably before bedtime and then you will get periodic increases and adjustments, if well tolerated.
On another note, have you had your cholesterol levels checked lately?
If they're below 160mg/dl then you are at a high risk of hypocholesteriolemia
negative effects, usually associated with brain issues, hormonal deficiencies, neurological dysfunction, vitamin D resistance, etc.
Best wishes,
Niko
