Fibro Flare Up and new Med.. Any advice ???

Hello my name is Jenn. I am 26 years old and I have had Fibromyaliga since I was 17.... I went to the dr yesterday and he gave me a new medication to be taking with my Cymbalta. He gave me Zaneflex. Has anyone ever taken this ? And has it helped ? I did notice that about 30 mins after I took it, it literally knocked me on my butt..... I was so tired and dizzy... Went to bed....Has anyone taken or been taken this drug ? Does it help ? I am also taking 60MG of Cymbalta a day...... Any input would be nice.

THanks,
Jenn

Yes, it does. It's a muscle relaxer.

I am seeing my regular Dr. who but he specializes in Fibro.. And the pain medication really seemed to help lastnight, but this morning I am so sore.....I am waiting on the Dr's office to call in a refill of Cymbalta for me...... So right now I'm just relying on the Zanaflex.

I take 40mg on Cymbalta. I believe the Zanaflex is the same type medication. I can believe it knocked you out! Have you considered the new drug that was the first approved drug for fibro...Lyrica. You start slow, and work up to the dose that relieves your nerve pain. There are some side effects, and some people gain weight on it, but it has helped my fibro and diabetic neuropathy a lot. Is this a GP you are seeing, or a rheumatologist who specialises in fibro? A specialist would be best. Good luck.
