Oh!! Check out his credentials on the i-net. If I remember correctly, he works for an insurance company.

There are a lot of people that do believe in it. I know we sure do!! Things have gotten alot better since I was first diagnosed. We have been winning many battles, eventually we will win the war!

I read this article over and over and I really remembered why I am going to school to be a Physician's Assistant! Skeptical because the cause is unknown, there are many other medical mysteries... like we don't know everything about colds? Does that mean they don't exist?

I know exactly what this is about and I am not afraid to shout it out!!! This is all about insurance companies.

OHHH I am so flaming angry. I can't even type on here what I really want to say.

I can't get onto those sites to read the article, but can anyone tell me who this particular doctor is? I am wondering if it is the same one that did that article in the New York Times about a year or so ago. While they were funding his research, he believed in it then later changed his mind. Oh please, these people are nuts. How in the world would so many people come down with the same symptoms and experience incredible pain? When I developed FMS years ago, I never even heard of it. Unfortunately, neither did alot of the doctors. Over the years, it has traveled throughout my body and has caused me to visit many specialists to rule out other things. I am rarely "pain-free" but I have learned to live with it. I had to retire early from work.

Maybe I shouldn't say this, but I'm gonna anyway. I suspect maybe these doctors work for insurance companies.

I am going to keep pasteing this up where it is going to help. There have to be skeptics to bring controversy to light.

Both sides will meet and after the battle, we will prevail, Here here!!

We have the ammunition, the info, the patients, the people in Washington, all they have is their opinions.
AND ....Opinions are like a**holes, everybody's got one.  LOL

How can they even give an 'ounce' of creditibility to a Dr. who did research to prove it exists, then decided to change his mind?  It sounds just like a 'payoff' to me.  Wolfe is a quack and they can quote me on that, lol.  I think some of these egotistical, can't see anything out of their little boxes, people need to see a therapist themselves...since they obviously have no freedom of thought.

Unfortunately the Associated Press has now picked up on the story. This is ridiculous... and don't these people have better things to report ?

I have only one thing to say about the CBS article and the ignorant man who wrote it....

There was a time when doctors refused to wash their hands, even after performing surgery, because they didn't believe in germs.

There was a time that people with schizophrenia were thought to be posessed by demons.

There was a time people thought that special needs children couldn't learn so they spent lifetimes hidden away a home.

OK, OK....it was more than one thing....but....the common thread is.....THEY WERE ALL WRONG....and time prove it.  Just because they don't know the cause....doesn't mean there isn't one....and just because there isn't a test.....doesn't mean there won't be one.

When I was 4 kids weren't vaccinated against polio....when I was 5 they were.  The miracle of medicine is that it advances.....I quess someone forgot to tell the guy who wrote the article.

I've gone back over that article several times and every time I read it I get angrier. How dare these people try and convince me or anyone else that this disease is not a disease. I have been so ill these past several months, I would dearly love to be able to rub these skeptical doctor's noses in my script basket. Shame on CBS for allowing them to write this. This sort of garbage is one of the main reasons why we are called crazy or pill seekers. It's not right, but util we have someone to help us fight this mess, we'll be reading a lot more of it.

gentle hugs

It is really awful that people can be so judgemental about a condition that they probably don't even suffer from.  I do not personally suffer from Fibromyalgia but know several people who do and it can be extremely debilatating for the person and their family.  So hard to believe that some do not think it is an actual disease.  My heart goes out to all of you who suffer from it and have to deal with the skeptics out there.

I'm bumping this up again.  This article is exactly why others look upon us as skeptics and try to convince everyone that we are malingering or nuts.  Your voice here is appreciated...to post a comment you only need to register at the site.  As it appears now, it seems not many have defended their position.   :-(
