Your symptoms are similar to mine - I'd say Fibro could be in there, but yes look into Thyroid & Adrenal issues too. My doc cked my thyroid - Normal, but she wont look into adrenal possibilities, unfortunately once you get labeled with Fibro they try to shove EVERYTHING under that umbrella, even if it's clearly not supposed to go there!!!!
Never give up though - always search for answers.
My wife was diagnosed with fibro a few years ago--nothing done for a long time to help her--then we heard on Oprah show from Dr. Oz about the Fibro and Fatigue medical Center in Dallas. They specialize in just this condition and Chronic Fatigue. Anyway--she had all these classic symptoms--then the Dr. put her on a regimen of injections, supplements, prescriptions specific to her issues and, here, a year later she is doing considerably better.
You might consider investigating whether this clinic might benefit--it's not cheap but they might help you get to some underlying issues. I hope so.
I wrote this to another member as well--I really wish you well. This is tough on every family member.
wow this sounds just like me an i do have fibro an also have had a full hyst witch is the cause of the fibro i hemorrhaged on 3 diff days 2 weeks later but my hormones r weird like sensations i feel in n\my head an arms n legs . jeannine
I would have all the neccesary test done to rule out Chronicn Fatigue Syndrome also. The symptoms you are describing boue very well be CFS. It is a scary world out there if you don't have a doctor who you turst and is compassionate and willing to get to the bottom of the proble,. Gove us an update please.
A note: if you get your thyroid checked, there is something you should know. According to Dr. Kent Holtorf: CFS and FM patients almost always have low tissue levels of thryoid hormones due to hypothalamic and pituitary dysfunction and thyroid resistance, which has been documented in a number of studies. However, this hypothyroidism is missed 80%-90% of the time because standard thyroid tests usually miss it. The test that Dr. Holtorf recommends for FM and CFS patients' is the T3/reverse T3 ratio.
Tell your doctor to do a THYROID & ADRENAL workup. Also test your PREGNENOLONE.
When you see how low your levels are, then they can be addressed. Your symptoms come from a variety of hormones that are low.
Have the Dr's given you a DX yet? Are you feeling better?
No problem...hope you feel better soon and get the answers you are looking for.
Have actually made an appointment now to see a rheumatologist...thanks for taking the time to answer
have you been to a rheumatologist, they usually diagnosis Fibromyalgia and things related to it I would start there.
