Food triggers

A woman in my lab yesterday who has Fibro says there is a book, something like surviving Fibromyalgia?  Anyway she says there is a section in there that talks about food triggering pain.  I am really hurting today and wonder if it is something I ate yesterday.  Any comments, please!

Thanks,
Linda

Thanks for the comments. I think there is something to food triggers. As a migraine sufferer all my life, I know certain food trigger migraines.  BTW I was out of pain meds last week and cold turkey on them.  I had a cluster migraine every day at the same time.  Perhaps it's the Lyrica, hope not. Now I am back on my pain meds they seem to prevent that twice daily torture of clusters. Fiornal works. Stronger stuff didn't.

Curls;  Now with forum changed I have no idea where that post is!  Can you give me the URL?

spastic;  Thanks, I think I need a trip to the book store.

Glad to see you all,  I had the stomach flu and was miserable. Couldn't even talk to my husband!

I posted a whole description of my experiences with this on one of Chris's threads.  I think two back.

(When you get there, I forgot in there to mention corn to add to the list.  Also nightshades (a set of foods with a common ingrediant.  I'd say around 20% of pain patients like arthrisis see an improvment eliminating them.  They're hard though.  It's like coffee, eggplant, peppers, pepper spice, and more.  Did I metion MSG and asparteme?)

Food chances can make a huge difference for some people, so it's worth consideration.

I stay up too late, huh?  My kids are in bed.  It's me time.

You know, I wonder if some of our issues stem from candida.  I was on antibiotics for 7 years with sinus infections.  I suffered a lot of yeast issues during that time.  Sometimes if I don't eat sugars or carbs, I get terrible pain in muscles and unbelievable headaches.  I read that this is due to "die off," when the yeast die, they give off toxicity.  It's only supposed to last 3 days then the headache goes away.  I can't stay off carbs long enough, well. . .I DID do low carb for two months once and felt and looked amazing.  I just didn't consider I might have gotten rid of yeast.  I take probiotics, but don't know if I am taking correctly.

Anyway, my 62 year old Mom has Fibro as well, and she says spicy foods, rich, fatty foods and sugar, sometimes protien can stress the body because it is so hard to digest.  What's left to eat?  LOL! Lettuce, sugar and meat all take a lot of the body's energy to digest and I think could stress our systems,  Someone else help me out here.

Sfbaygirl, what did you eat, my dear?   I hope it wore off quickly and that you r doing better.
