From Fatigued to Fantastic Protocol

Hello everyone,
I bought the book From Fatigued to Fantastic by Dr. Teitlebaum (sp?) and felt like it was speaking right to me and me only.  I went on his website and read the book and decided to try his protocol based on my symptoms. I am just curious to know if anyone else has done this and how successful was it? I found all the supplements I needed from my local health store.  So, if anyone else has done this and has some input, that would be great. Thank you!

Since Chronic Faitgue Syndrome is relatively a new illness... we just don't know whether or not some of these treatments are "curing people". But I can tell you that Dr. Teitelbaum had (?) CFS in 1975 and successfully treated his own condition. There are other physicians who have done the same (check out my journal entry.... Physicians Who Deserve Our Attention: http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/44526?personal_page_id=1064 )

People who are on these pathogen killing treatments are aware that they could relapse. Fortunately there are natural formulas that kill mycoplasmas and other pathogens... so I will always keep a bottle handy just in case. ; ^ )  Also, there is an antiviral that apparently is curing CFS patients:

http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/01/15/business/fatigue.php

I think the pathogen killing treatments are safer than the immunosuppressant therapies. I also believe that people who do the Valcyte or other antivirals for CFS (or even fibro)... are at a greater risk for relapse than those who do the pathogen killing treatments. (i.e. Marshall Protocol, Dr. Jernigan's protocol, etc.)

Yeah, I agree.  It could be weeks or months before you notice a change.  I've seen reports (PlateletGal is one, I believe) of people where it's worked for them, but I always wonder if it's curative or if it's just addressing nutritional deficiencies and the like to correct/improve secondary problems, and not really doing anything for the real problem.

In short, I've seen too many reports of "didn't do anything for me" or reports where it did something, but no more than you'd expect for correcting vitamin, mineral, or electrolyte imbalances, so I'm very skeptical about a "miracle cure".

But *my* skepticism doesn't really matter if it works for *you*...I just need to hear from a few more people, and preferably a few doctors, before I start believing in any one treatment myself.

In any event, best of luck!  I really do hope it works for you, cuz I think we can all agree, this disease is a nightmare.

to RobinHood70 and deedee332, it takes some time for the supplements to work (like most supplements) but I will definitely post on here if it helps me at all.

For those of you with the book, please let us know how it works out after a long period on his protocol.

Others in other forums haven't had great experiences, and to be honest, his site comes off as one large sales gimmick for his supplements and his book.  But that doesn't necessarily mean that he's wrong, it's just something that makes me wary.

So please, if it clearly works for you and has made you feel better in the long run, let us all know.

Hi PlateletGal,
Yes, it is a great book. Ree4TU recommended it to me and I am so glad that she did.  What specialist do you see? I still need to find a doctor who understands all of this.  I have read about the mycoplasma infection, in the book and I believe on the Health Pages. Thanks for responding.

Isn't it a great book ?  My specialist has spoken with Dr. Teitelbaum and he has me taking many of his recommend supplements. I'm currently being treated for a nasty bacterial infection (mycoplasma.... mentioned in Dr. Teitelbaum's book). Treatment for these infections can take years, but the pay-off is huge.
