HELP!!!

I am a 38 yr old female who had a perforated colon due to a laproscopic surgery gone bad. I had endometriosis in 1997 and the OB GYN did laproscopic surgery to get rid of it. The endometriosis surgery part was a sucess but I have had sooo many problems since. I was hospitalized for 6 days and given high doses of antibiotics and did well so I was released. I never got my energy back and have been diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia in the last few years. I am VERY achy, tired, sore, have acid reflux, lots of headaches (including migraines), and severe depression. I hurt so bad sometimes that my skin actually hurts for my clothes to touch it.

I started out feeling like I was getting the flu back in late 97, (about 4 months after surgery), with all the aching and tiredness, but never a fever or actually getting sick. Then it would go away and come back a month or so later. Eventually getting closer and closer together and finally, in 1999 never left. I have had every test the Dr's know to give me in my area of East TN, but sometimes wonder if I need to go somewhere else to a bigger hospital or some clinical trial.

Does anyone out there have any questions or any HELP for me? I am off work due to all this and my life is basically none at this point and I am at my wits end. PLEASE HELP or give me ANY info you may think is pertinent. THANKS in advance.

Trish

Hi'ya,

I'm so sorry for what you're still going thru after colonoscpy..........wish I know where to start to help you.  Have you googled on 'causes of ..........etc. after colonoscoy'?  sometimes, with luck, you may be able to fine exactly what you are looking for.  I'll give a shot on googling too......if I find anything, I 'll message it to you.

Hang in there.

I had the same type of surgery you had due to endometriosis (didn't wake up from anesthesia for 8 hours). Severe pelvic pain never went away for several years.  In my case, I believe that my system took a nose dive from the stress of the surgery...provided, I've already pretty much maxed out my health prior to my surgery thinking I was invincible prior to my surgery  (that I would always recover and bounce back? NOT!!), and surgery only excerbated my condition.  Few years later, I was diagosed with ME/CFS and FMS.when I collapsed.  Oh, boy, I totally relate to your skin hurt symptom, I used to scream when my husband barely touched my back.

The dilemma between getting quality health care and going thru financial hardship is one that many of us experienced/experiencing.  We can only do what we can to our best ability.  Being on a well balanced diet is an excellent start.

Look into info on FMS, ME/CFS...and other illness that would give you combination of all your symptoms and go from there.  Wishing you the best of luck.

Huggies,
Kit

Hi I can't find it!!!  Urg.  I think they might have deleted it since my link to it doesnt' find it (reverts back to this).

Basically food senstiviities has little to do with eating healthy, but with finding foods that are triggering symptoms for you.  It's subtle at first until you're off the food for a while.  It can be anything but usually it's one of the usual allergins like dairy eggs or soy.  You have to be careful to remove ALL of the food for the duration of a couple weeks of testing.  And can try a few at a time.  Read labels and casinen is a milk protein.

Maybe you email medhelp and ask them where that post went.  It was a very long one with lots of comments.  Platlet was a big part of that post too... maybe she can find it?

Thank you so much for writing back so quick. Guess ur up too! lol.I will def look at what you told me too. I will try ANYTHING! I don't eat junk, don't smoke, don't drink. Drink tons of water as I am always thirsty. No sodas or much of anything at all with sugar. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Try to eat fish 2 x a wk. Have done long programs of supplements, chiro adj's, acupuncture, hyperbarrick (sp?) chamber, different meds! Now my phychologist wants to do "Quantum biofeedback"! Can't afford it as most of the other stuff I tried was not covered by insurance and I am off work. Do you know anything about this? I read up on it and it sounds logical but so did all the other stuff! Thanks so much and I will look food sen's. Trish

Ohh.  That's not fun.  Do a search and look for my prior posts (or other peoples) on food eliminations.  With the stomach involvement, it's where I'd start for improveing symptoms.

It does sound like CFS.  However it's a diverse group and different things trigger and help different people.  So, keep researching and you'll find some stuff to help.  Food sensitivies are poorly understood.  However they often help (not everyone though).  There's a connection to a concept of leaky gut, but that's never been verifiyed by regular medicine.  However with inflamation in your stomach from all the problems, it's where I'd start...

I think my food sens stuff is in a thread started by chrisneedshelp.
