Heya, it sounds like the M.E in full swing. I have it and suffer from swollen glands, every day I need to try really hard not to let it ruin my life, I need to accept that things need to be slightly different for me...I'm in a denial phase and don't want to let M.E and gland problems ruin my life....so i try to pretend I don't have it...lol, and find myself on here on a friday night! hehe! Been in bed since 9pm :-)
I feel this ladies pain, I suffer with swollen lymph nodes in my neck and it just makes me feel so lifeless! Severe fatigue, weight gain, muscle aches n pain, no energy, problems with my left shoulder joint, I look pale all the time, and have recently been waking feeling like I have been hit by a bus, my bottom cheeks feel as if they have been badly bruised but there is no sign of bruising! Constantly tossing and turning in bed??? I just feel awful 24/7 and no answers as to why I feel like this?? I to have 2 young children and it's hard work :(
Dee-ME stands for myalgic encephalomyelitis. It is the the other term used for CFS, and in that community, the preferred term as it describes the disease rather than a syndrome. I believe the US uses CFS more than other countries- England uses only ME, and Canada calls it ME/CFS.
emz_brent Certainly the pain, low energy and confusion being described all fit the diagnosis. You need to rest. Trying to push your way through this can make things worse. This is a miserable disease but it can be managed by carefully pacing yourself to avoid overexertion. The tendency is for people to push themselves, then crash, then push themselves again.
Rambling is fine. Ramble as much as you need to.
Hi Hon,
Haven't heard anything more from and I'm wondering how you are doing. Have you done anything about your situation? Did you see a Rheumatologist or at least get an appointment? Also, I'm asking again, what is M.E.?
Dee
Sweetie,
First of all ,what is M.E. I'm not familiar with the abbreviation, but being an RN, I'm sure I know that it is. Are you seeing a Rheumatologist.? That's what you need to do, if not. A general practitioner can only take you so far. With all of your painful symptoms you need a Rheumatologist. I, myself among other problems, have Fibro so I can imagine what you're going through. You must be so miserable and then you have the responsibilty of your little ones. who cannot understand what is wrong with Mommy. Please, please get your regular md to make a referral for you to see a Rheumatologist. This is extremely important so don't drag your feet about it. It pains me to hear how you are suffering. I've been on Lyrica for a few weeks now and it has changed my life. I feel soooo much better. So ask about it when you see the R.... I really hope you will keep in touch and let me know if you've followed through and how you are doing. I am fairly new on here but there are lots of people you can help you and make more suggestions to decrease your discomfort, so stay with us and post often. You are so young. Take back your life. Talk to you soon. Lot's of hugs, no that's painful but you know what I mean.
Dee
