Has anyone every taken Imipramine or Lycria for Fibro

I have been on Imipramine for 6 years although not diagnosed with fibro.  My neurologist put me on it for chronic tension headaches.  But have also had fibro symptoms for 6 years.  This medication kept the symptoms under control.

I started having an increased heart rate and heart palpations about 3 months ago and went off the medication.  My neurologist moved his office, so I went to a new family doctor.  He still has not diagnosed me with fibro, and is running test.  Heart test were fine, but had to go on medication to keep my heart rate and blood pressure down. They don't know what was causing this except stress.   Blood work is ok.  He thought I had polymalgia rheumatic and put me on pred for a week. Only been on it for a couple of days and am suppose to call the doctor Monday.  He is now suggesting Lycria.   (We had already tried ambien for sleep & Paxil, but neither has helped the fibro symptoms.  I have muscle tenderness and nerve pain in my arms and upper back.

Does Lyrica work for nerve pain.

If you have FMS you should also have symptoms on your bottom half on both sides too.  Have you ever been check for cervical disk problems.  Sounds more like that problem.  Lyrica is hard to get, insurances don't like to provide something soo expensive if they don't see allot of other things tried first.  I personnallly wouldn't use that if all possible problems haven't been checked out.  Good Luck  Sharon
