Help for Pain management, Questions

A friend is suffering terrible from Fibro, hey put her on Lyrica, she had some issues concering confusion, memory loss, they took her off of it completely.  She can't take any controlled drugs for Fibro.  Is there another medication out for Fibro. Any help appreciated....She also has started suffering from anxiety attacks due to what is going on with her.  Thanks

I have been on Lyrica for about 4 mos now. I had horrible sx, sleepy and fatigued for about a month or so. Now the sx (sides) are gone. My dr. said they would subside and they did. Started a bit more Lyrica (think I need more and am in a flare of FM) and am sleepy again. They work so well! I really can't complain. I felt so much pain before I started the lyrica, almost quit b/c of the sides. I didn't quit and continued, so glad I did! I am now in school and am getting my life back. I believe I am having another flare up and need a bit more....my Dr told me so. I told him I felt well and didn't want more of the drug. Now I wish I had gone up a bit.  Anyway...don't give up after a few weeks..let it go for over a month. It worked for me. I am back in school and am getting my life back.  Of course that doesnt' happen for everyone, but don't give up so quickly.

I am taking Cymbalta and it helps very much. Warm baths [warm moisture]. and My husband gives me very gentle massages when I'm really hurting.
