Living with the pain

Hi.  This is my first post.  I am 30 years old.  I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a year and a half ago.  I had been to the doctor many times for the persistant pain in my feet and legs.  My pain was so severe I would actually have my husband carry me from the bed at night to the rest room because after I had been sitting for awhile, getting up was almost impossible. They did several blood tests and no one could tell me for sure what was wrong except that I had a high sed rate in my blood results, which meant I had a high amount of inflammation in my body. I even went to a pediatrists who made me where a "boot" for a month because she said I had tendonitis and bursitis. They finally sent me to a rheumatoligist and he diagnosed the fibro.  I was extremely frustrated because no one really understood what it was other than it caused me some pain.  It's really hard to explain this those who do not suffer with it, I hope I'm not alone in saying that.  Anyway, that doctor prescribed me an enormous dosage of asprin.  The week following that visit I discovered I was pregnant with my fourth child.  I immediatly stopped all meds.  During the course of my pregnancy my prayers had been answered...my pain was completely gone.  I could walk without limping and the swelling was gone.  But about 2 weeks postpartum it all came back.  I don't like taking pain medicine all the time and until just recently that was my only release from the pain.  I began taking Acai juice.  Yes, I was skeptical at first, but after a week of taking 2 oz. a day, the swelling in my feet subsided and I could walk relatively pain free.  I felt better all over.  When I would have a flare up my whole body would ache just like you do when you have a high fever, but when I was taking this juice I felt so much better.  As soon as I ran out and it got out of my system the swelling returned so I know it was definately what helped me.  I'm just throwing this out to anyone who is desperate just like I was.  The brand name is Mona Vie and it is a wonderful thing!  Is anyone else out there on this same juice?  I would love to hear your feed back.  Thanks and God Bless!

That is so true!!  If we could stay pregnant we would be pain free!!  I've already got 4 kids so that is not an option I guess, LOL!  It amazes me that the powers that be can't find a way to mimic the hormonal effect of pregnancy to treat the fibro.  That would be wonderful!!

I think Dr Oz said something about that juice on Oprah a couple months ago.

Colemomma- I am 32. I was diagnosed with FM about 2 yrs before my 2nd pregnancy. Mine also went completely away while I was pregnant. Actually, stayed away until I stopped breastfeeding. Then WHAMMO! It hit me 20 times worse. I told my hubby I should have been one of those women who breastfeed till their kids are in high school. LOL.

Sound like it could be used with other drugs like Lyrica. I know that one person on this forum has awful swelling and stopped the Lyrica. Perhaps this could help.  Sometimes we need to take a number of things to get the pain under control. for me it is being so tired and fatiqued. I can't stand that, so my Dr. gave me Wellbutrin. Haven't tried it yet, but some of the sx from Lyrica are going away.

You can actually order the juice off the internet.  The brand name is Mona Vie and they have a website.  I got mine from a friend who was actually selling for the main company so I got it for the wholesale price of $35 a bottle.  It looks just like a bottle of wine and one bottle lasts 2 weeks.  I think the retail price is anywhere from $45 to $50 a bottle.  The lady I got it from told me it tasted like blackberry juice and it does except it has an awful "wang" at the end.  I usually chase mine with milk just to wash away the taste, but believe me it is well worth it!  It is pricey, but I was desperate.  I have 4 young boys to keep up with and I was at my wits end.  It is all natural and it definately boosts your energy and it has basically eliminated my swelling.  I would advise anyone who suffers with this type of pain to at least give it a try.  Now I will tell you that after I had taken it for the first few days I had a BAD flare up and even considered not taking anymore because I thought it was making it worse.  But my mom encouraged me to at least finish the first bottle since I had already paid the money for it.  I did and after that first spell my swelling went away and I felt better than I have felt in years!  I'm glad for you that your husband is so supportive!  I know that means a lot!
