MRI Result

Hello,

The MRI results are normal. I called the doctors office and the nurse told me that my MRI results were normal.

I thought CFIDS people have Abnormal MRI ?

I asked if there was any lesion and she said NO, all normal.

Why do I still feel isolated sometimes, have headaches, feel like I can't concentrate and memory is losing ?

Wouldn't MRI show all that ?

I know insurance and how they work pretty well.

Thanks... that is always good to know. Every insurance company is different... but a basic idea of how they work and their "exclusion policies" are good to know. Thanks.

United Healthcare had a great plan... at least one time. Blue Cross is also good. Assurant... no comment about them.

There was a story about a man who was told that he had a "pre-existing" condition because he had an event that could have been heart related... but it turned out it wasn't. He was on the news... CBS... talking about what happened to him and so many others. His insurance company refused to pay for his heart attack. There are some shady insurance companies that are doing this. This man had to spend thousands of dollars to fight it in court... at least he won.

There is a "pre-existing" exclusion period and if you have a medical condition, it is wise to talk to your Human Resources Dept. and find out more about your policy, etc.

If you check out the "Health Pages" that I mentioned above... it will talk about the test and the results that CFS patients are having.

No, see a pre-existing condition is consider pre-existing only if you are being treated for condition for quite a while. For example, if you really do have a heart problem, then you would see your cardio frequently, couple a visit and abnormal heart test does not give you a pre-existing condition.

I know insurance and how they work pretty well.

Do many people here own their own business ? If so go with a group plan, and its much cheaper.

You must have 2 people to qualify for group plan. Blue Cross is the best insurance company, stay away from United Healthcare, they will not pay for anything.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Okay, yes I should go get the test and see what happens, I already know its going to be abnormal, but I'll go back in a month or so.

Anyways, what does the test do ? How do they treat  you ?

Is a heart test that tells you that you will have a heart attack ?

I am going to ENT tomorrow, I have been to way too many doctors in last few weeks.

A reminder for everyone here to remember to always have continuous healthcare coverage. What my fear is...I could get the heart test done and it would be abnormal. Years later, I could have heart problems and my healthcare insurance company could say that my heart problems are due to a "pre-existing" condition and refuse to pay for my treatment.

Is the heart test, where they check for palpitation with a monitor hooked up to you 24 hrs.

My Cardio requested that since I was having skipping beat.

Is that what you are talking about ?

I never went with it.

Hi BlackGold,

There were times that my neurophils (also a type of white cell like the lymphocytes) were high. Increased neutrophils could be due to viral infections, bacterial infections, inflammation, etc. There were also other times that my white blood cell (WBC) count was elevated.

You may want to consider asking your physician about that heart test. Please remember though that once you get a diagnosis, it is quite important from then on to have continuous healthcare coverage.

I sent you a link that is a "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" CDC Checklist. You may want to print it out for your physician to fill out and that may be able to assist him/her with getting you a diagnosis. But remember what I said about having that diagnosis in your medical records.

Nobody here can diagnose you. You can check out the Health Pages (located to your right) and read more information on tests that many CFIDS patients are failing. As I stated earlier, the only test that apparently ALL CFIDS (CFS) patients are failing is the holter heart test. There is also a research test that is not FDA approved that may be able to diagnose fibro & CFS patients. You can read about that test as well.

Increased lymphocytes can be a sign of a viral infection, hepatitis, the flu, inflammatory disorders, some cancers, & endocrine problems.

Ok, can you explain me what is going on .

On June 1st my Lymphocyte was 51%

June 25, Lymphocyte was 65%

July 1, Lymphocyte was 51%

Aug 1, Lymphocyte was 36%

As CFIDS patient my lymphocyte for last 5 years have all ways been above 50%

What does this mean .? Is the immune system losing battle ?

Is that a Good Sign I have a normal MRI ?

Half of CFIDS patients have abnormal MRI's. Check out the health pages:

http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Fibromyalgia/Diagnostic--Blood-Tests-to-Help-Diagnose-CFS/show/376?cid=39

However... apparently all CFS patients are failing the Halter Heart Monitor test.
