New Experience of my Fibro

So I recently finally got diagnosed with Fibro. They gave me Elavil after trying Lyrica, and Nerontin. I also had Vicodin and Tramadol. Well I withdrew from the Tram cause I decided to stop it. After that I decided to stop all my meds except for the clexa 20 mil. Now I'm taking a multi Vit, Calcium with D, Folic Acid, Fish oil, Cod oil and I get B12 shots still. I also changed my diet to Organic, Gluten Free and minimal red meat if any and a little bit of all natural chicken. I'm also doing some stretching at night. It's been 4 days since I've been off my meds and on this new regimen and let me tell you, I feel so much better! Gluten is a mean source of Fibro! It can also make ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, and Autism worse. My son has ADHD, and Bipolar. I am also slowly getting him started on this new diet. Nothing too much at once. The lil I have done has made a diff in just a few days. I can't do these medicines they give me! They may work great for others and that's great, but I thought I would put my experience out on here. Even if anyone still needs to take their meds, maybe trying a new Fibro diet may help symptoms even better! I just wanted to share! I also withdrew from Tramadol after 30 days on it! Be careful on it, they say it's non addictive, but it is. I never abused it, it was just rom taking it everyday for 30 days, my body was like Hey where my medicine?? haha NO MORE for me!

Good for u maky!!!! My hat goes off to u at ur poactiveness in helping urself!! Gluten is one of the 7 foods to stay away from with FM. Going organic means no more chemicals and dyes and what not being put into ur body that can cause pain and allergies to arise. *stands up and down clapping*

Hello,
I am glad to hear you are feeling better on your new diet and stretching program. At times the wrong medications can make it hard for us to tell what we really need for our bodies. I have a couple of question for you. You mentioned taking Vicodin. Were you taking that with the Tramadol and did you wean off of it at the same time? Usually people have a bit of withdrawal when they decrease off of Vicodin as well. I was just curious? I wasn't clear on that point. My brain gets a little fuzzy at times. :) I apologize for that!

Oh and I'm seeing that my body is depending on the pain med to do the work for me and then when I don't take it anymore, my body is like dang I gotta work now??!! Really!! Then it feels worse! I need to make my body work naturally and build stronger naturally! I can't let it get lazy!
