Possible to lose weight with Fibromyalgia?

Hello all - I am 29/F - Stay at home Mom to a 3 year old (not b/c I psychically can't work but b/c we chose this for her) - for the past month I have been experiencing this discomforting "chest wall" pain - when I say chest wall that is what I am assuming that is what it is - basically there's this "sore spot" on the left part of my chest just above my breast (right under my collar bone) - - when press on it, it's tender - - I had this last month around the time I was ovulating and just brushed it off to "swollen lymph nodes" from hormonal stuff during that time - - but it never completely left. It comes and goes throughout the day - and it's more noticeable when I'm stressed out or having anxiety about things. I have also lost 6% of my weight - In December I weighed 114/115 lbs - today, I weigh 107/108. I've attributed the weight loss to the depression - but I haven't been "trying" to lose weight (b/c I wanted to actually gain a few pounds) so the shock that I've lost 6% of my total body weight is now REALLY stressing me out causing that sore spot to hurt more. I'm a hypochondriac and have self diagnosed myself as having an undiagnosed tumor in that sore spot - LOL. (as funny as it is, that is my life and I'm freaking out about the weight loss and the sore spot) I noticed today while cleaning my grandmother's house, that when I sprayed bleach to clean the sinks in the bathroom (windows and air was on) that the "tender spot" was like heightened sensitivity. It was almost like the smell of the bleach was activating it to hurt. Please tell me that I'm not crazy and that this is NOT all in my head. My husband and family are so tired of hearing me complain about my chest hurting and my husband is always comforting me assuring me that I'm not dying and that I'm ok - poor guy is probably ready to kick me to the curb...LOL. Is it possible to lose that much weight unintentionally and that I may just have Fibromyalgia?

Proceed escalating the weekly workout. You may have started with a single day of going for a walk. and possibly you actually moved for 25 minutes or so. Right now you may put in a 2nd day of exercising. You can change from running around the neighboorhood to walks in the nearby mall.

Make use of the sections from the diet plan that don't operate for you personally as inspiration to locate items that get the job done. Improve your physical exercise right up until you happen to be taking walks (or undertaking various other kind of physical exercise) a minimum of 3 or 4 times per week. Should you could, include some straightforward power working out workout routines for the exercise.
So you happen to be understanding about how precisely you are able to drop some weight quickly. Having modest actions, you may recognize that unwanted fat starts to completely disappear from your very own body system. Shedding just a little bit pounds is great inspiration to redouble your time and efforts at reducing weight.

Hi jjone316.

Most Fibro sufferers have a low grade underlying infection.
Stress and anxiety cause a weakening of the immune system,
as it needs to respond to the stressful condition, rendering the body
very vulnerable to the infection. The infection spikes, causing swollen lymph nodes, and the tender spot below the collar bone is one.
Just rub it for a while and you will experience relief, as the rubbing initiates
drainage of the accumulated lymphatic fluid. In no time the tender spot is no longer "tender"! It's as simple as I can explain it.
Chest pain itself, may be a separate issue.
3 possibilities:
1. Low blood volume. Very consistent with Fibro. 15% or more is clinically significant. (25ml-35ml red blood cells to 1Kg of body weight is the normal
range)
2. Insufficient cellular energy production (mitochondrial production) affecting heart and c/v system, due to a. Infectious condition,
b. magnesium and or CoEnzyme Q10 deficiency
c. Left ventricle muscle scarring from irregular heart beat
(100% of fibro sufferers have irregular heart beat!) If you need details on this, I can explain it further.

Bleach is a toxic poison!!!  Inhaling this causes damage. Your body cannot
take more harmful substances, as your symptoms are alerting you.
Use friendlier cleaners, avoiding anything that is not safe and good for you.
Your life will start improving dramatically when you start paying attention to every little detail. Diet and nutrition, use of  safer cosmetics and soaps, avoidance /elimination of all stressful situations, proper breathing
(breathing retraining), daily activity/exercise, meditation, etc.

IwillDoThis offered some valuable suggestions also.
Fibro can be reversed! It's not easy, but definitely worth trying.
Have you checked for HyperThyroidism in regards to your weight loss?
Let me know if you need details.

Take care.
Niko

Hi there - with fibro there are 18 tender spots and the chest where you describe is definitely one of them and one of the ones that bother me also so rest assured I'm sure that is all it is.  With fibro many of us have IBS or other similar issues which could explain your weight loss.

In order to receive the dianosis of Fibro you used to have to have 11 of the 18 tender points, have had pain for longer than 3 months and have pain in multiple quadrants of your body.  However, in the last couple of years the American College of Rheumatology has accepted new criteria that is a little more comprehensive and relies on a widespread pain index (WPI) and symptom severity (SS) score.

I have found that the more I fixate and focus on my symptoms the worse I feel whereas when I empower myself to get more educated about alternate ways to manage my pain, alternate cognitive behavioral therapies I DO feel much better.

I hope this helps!
