Pregnant with FMS and CFS

I am almost 13 weeks pregnant and have suffered from FMS and CFS for about 2 1/2 years. I have had a really hard time with it so far being off my meds, and the fatigue of normal pregnancy being intensified. My question is if anyone has any advise for good pain relief during pregnancy, what has worked for you, and did everything get worse or better throughout the pregnancy. I was just diagnosed with high Blood pressure as well and am on meds for that, and work full time, so maybe the pain is all stress related. I can't sleep or get any relief and it's driving me insane. Please help if you can.

hello i am currently 32 weeks pregnant with baby number three..i did have some spd with baby number two but that was 7 yrs ago. this pregnancy by far has been the worst. i started off bad having exfreme fatigue and horrible morning sickness that didnt go away until the second trimester. i also started having chronic back pain and rls in the early 2nd trimester that has only botten worse with my growing belly. i been to the dr. countless times to be told that this is a normal part of pregnancy..but i know better! i have also been prescribed flexril, vicoden, and tylenol with codeine.
the only disadvantage is its a narcotic and i need to weigh the risk of taken it vs. not. very hard as i deal with constant pain that never goes away. because of what im dealing with it leaves me anxious and depressed as it cut down my usual activities substantually. i cant wait til this is oved but i can only imagine what labor is going to be like on top of all the pain i already have. sheesh..well good luck to you and your pregnancy

Im new here and I have Fibro.  I just gave birth on Thanksgiving day of 2008!  My pregnancy was very difficult because of my fibro and NO meds.  I am 8 weeks post partom and the delivery seemed to have thrown me into a HORRIBLE flare :(  This is my 4th child and Im 40 soooooooo that maybe why I had and am having a horrible time.

I have a new symptom of burning skin all over my body and it hurts to hold my little girl.  I am now on Cymbalta, its only been a few days and I'm hoping it helps.

Congrats to both Mommy's to be :)

I also am pregnant and had to come off of my meds for the FMS. I hear people tell me that I will go into a remission of sort due to being pregnant however I am in my 18th week and there seems to be no remission in site. I wish there was something I could take or do for the pain without hurting the baby.

I would like to say congrats on your pregnancy! I am a first time Mommy to be also and was a little scared because I didn't know about it until my 12th week. I thought I had the stomach flu!

Hello and welcome.

Congrats on your pregnancy firstly.  I know it is going to be extremely difficult for you having these illnesses and carrying as well.  Some actually feel better while pregnant due to increased hormones, but for others it can be a tough time.

I would be very hesitant to offer any advice for pain during pregnancy.  I really feel this is something you need to discuss with your OBGYN and see what they can do.  This is a time when you must be very careful about what goes into your body, but there are some meds. available if your doc. feels it's ok.

I hope things won't go too badly for you.  Keep focused on your new little one and how wonderful that will be down the road to become a mommy.  Try to keep things simple and pace what you do...resting well inbetween.

Wishing you the very best and please take care.
