Mirapex 0.5 mg each evening works great for me. I have suffered for so many years with this but thought I was crazy because the symptoms were so weird and never heard of anyone else talking about it. I remember walking the floors all night even as a teenager 40 years ago. Finally five years ago I heard something about RLS, the name sure doesn't really fit how bad it is though, does it? Anyway, finally my primary care doctor gave me script for Requip but within 20 mins of the doses I took I was sweating perfusly and projectile vomiting. My neurologist gave me Mirapex, which at that time was only used for Parkinson's Disease. Now I see ads on TV and magazines for it to be used for RLS. It works for me. Every so often I have a couple nights in a row that I have problems but Mirapex has made my life easier. Now, since RLS is being talked about, I find all kinds of people who suffer from it but I never knew, including my mother, my sister and my daughter!! So ask your doctor about Mirapex and good sleeping to you!! P.S. Take it about 5 or 6 PM each night so the RLS doesn't start while sitting around watching TV in the evening!!

Hey bluenose,

when i'm going through a exposed of rls, i tend to find relief by messaging my feet and legs with a cool minty lotion, ice hot etc.  put on a pair of stretched out sweat socks and lay flat/straight as possible on my back with my legs lifted.
when it's real bad, like my legs are jumping and twitching i will apply heat for about 15mins and i will soon fall asleep for about 2-3 hours.

unfortunately i never, NEVER get an entire night of sleep due to something irritating the @#$*!, well irritating me.
