I have not been totally DX'd with fibro but that is what I am thinking they will tell me. But it seems like it just seems to get worse everyday. I used to be able to get up and fix my hair and put on makeup now I can't I don't have the ablility to hold my arms up long enough to fix it, I have such apin all over my body? Can Fibro make your face swell up? I seem to have new places to hurt everyday. My muscles are sooo tight and hurt. I have lost the stentgh in my right hand and am so off balance.

I have was diagnosed with firbo about 10 months and each flare seems to get worse.  I have noticed since Jan that I have alot of swelling in the neck, face and stomach .  My skin feels tight like there is no more space to swell.
I also get very made pressure headaches in the back of my head and neck which make me feel like I have to prop my head up.
I am constantly not able to use my arms due to heavy, weak muscles.
My consultant tells me to carry on as normal as I can but when I do feel good and do stuff it knocks me back off my feet.
Anyone got any helpful tips

Hi,

My face swelled ever since I was dx wit ME/CFS and FMS.  Never really thought about the whys....on bad days, it swells even more.  Overall body pain is common to ME/CFSers and FMSers.  Hang in there.

In friendship,

Hello,
I would suggest seeing your primary care physician (PCP) first. Have a talk with your PCP about the possibility of you having Fibromyalgia and see what he or she thinks. Face swelling could be a symptom of a number of things.

At this point Rheumatologist are the only doctors who are really qualified to diagnose Fibromyalgia, but not all Rheumatologists are "Fibro-friendly," meaning they don't all endorse the disorder. If your PCP believes you could have Fibro, it would be in your best interest to see a Rheumatologist who diagnoses and treats Fibro.

I know within the USA the National Fibromyalgia Association has a list of doctors who treat Fibromyalgia in each state. You do have to sign up, but the sign up is free. Their website address is: http://www.fmaware.org/
