For me, the breathing problems were a result of not being able to be as active and I got a little out of shape. Any breathing problems should be checked by a doctor..
Hey bec915,
Trapozone is a psychoactive chemical drug that has anti-depressant and sedative properties.
It would seem to me that this is not such an easy decision to make,
just to "try" such a drug.
May be he suspects that your sleep quality is affected by stress, depression or anxiety. Who knows?
If I were in your shoes, with the knowledge that I have today, I would Run to a Hypnotherapy Center instead. There are a couple places close to you, and I would choose the one with the best reputation. But that's what "I" would do. And if I would find that it is effective, I would ask for a Fibromyalgia Hypnotherapy package. (even if you do not believe that you have a correct diagnosis) It usually involves 12 sessions that deal with pain reduction, sleep quality improvement and emotional relief. This therapy also involves 2-3
"booster" sessions, following the initial program, and they are repeated every few months.
Fibromyalgia is not a specific disease, rather a combination of varying symptoms, that classifies it as a syndrome. That is why it is such a complex condition for diagnosis and
treatment.
There are a lot of things that can be done, regardless of what diagnosis you finally receive.
Hypnotherapy offers a lot of promise and the most diligent and committed clients, are the ones that experience the best results.
Should you be interested in more alternative and holistic treatments for your condition, please provide more details such as : When it all started, dietary habits, activities, fitness
level, significant past events (physical and emotional), medications, supplements, allergies, tests taken and results, current situation (family, career, finances, relationships), and anything else that might be useful.
And by the way, people "pretend" to have Fibromyalgia? This is a very disrespectful remark from a Medical Doctor.
Those people are suffering with Real Symptoms, experiencing a lot of pain , poor quality sleep, lack of energy and a lot of distress in their lives. But all this is another issue!
Please post again or message me directly anytime.

The Dr diagnosed me with FM after a physical exam and tons of questions. He said a lot of people pretend to have FM and a lot of people are misdiagnosed with FM. He said I meet all the criteria and the breathing problems are more than likely from lack of sleep. He wants me to try trazadone to help with the sleep and see if the breathing improves.
Hey bec915,
Welcome to the forum.
The difficulty in breathing is common with FMS as the chest muscles of the sufferer
may be affected. There may be also some heart related issues, such as mitral valve
prolaspe and arrhythmias which are common with FMS, and could be contributing to
some breathing difficulty.
There's also the upper airway resistant syndrome, seen with many FMS sufferers,
which causes shortness of breath when active.
We cannot overlook the fact also that in the majority of FMS cases, blood volume
is 5-50% less than normal levels.
Yawning is related to shallow breathing and again is common with FMS.
Nevertheless, these symptoms are definitely NOT criteria for diagnosis.
See my previous posts regarding Fibro dx.
And I suggest that you become very thorough with your research and education regarding your issues, as it is very easy to fall into Limboland.

With the limited details you provided, there isn't enough information to evaluate your current situation and offer you some suggestions.
If interested, please post again with more details.
Take care.
