Sudden Floater

Last November 09 i went to a doctor for few physical problem and  doctor gave me  some test after test he told me i got diabetes and also prescribe me glymapyride medicine. Using this medicine after two month i got few floater in my right eyes. For that cause i went to a eye doctor but he told me that its nothing worried about this thing its very normal who has myopia (i have myopia). But i am very worried about this floater cause i know floaters are related with retinopathy. So please give me some advise what can I do now. is this floaters are harmless or become harmful lately?

Floaters have to do with the insides of the eye actually, so I am not actually sure dry eyes have anything to do with floaters really. Most people have them to different varying degrees, it's just that not everyone notices them. If you suddenly see many of them, or they keep getting worse, it is wise to see the ophthalmologist. Sometimes an occurrence like this can be an emergency especially if you see flashing lights too. Here is a good picture of vitreous floaters in the eye. Just follow the link.

I was told that the slight floaters I have are related to dry eye.

Funny your journey started in the eye care forum...so did mine...we share something in common. They really do possess great knowledge there, but when it comes to eyes, the answers I have received from my eye doctors have been very confusing. Hmmm...

Dustybrow is right about posting in the eye care forum, it was the place I started my journey at MH and it was pretty useful since I had had a Retinal Detachment unexpectedly and knew nothing about,,,
But I guess the answer you will get there is basically the one I gave you,cos no one can know for sure when a floater means big problems except your retina doctor.Doctors just tell you have to pay attention to warning signs and at the same time try to ignore the floaters and enjoy your still good vision.

I have floaters with no retinal issues, but mine are somehow related to my corneal erosion syndrome and my arthritis. If I were you I would repost this question in the eye care forum. They are ophthalmologists that can answer your questions directly there. Good luck!

If you trusth the eye doctor you went on,try not to worry to much about,
If not, look for a second opinion. Considering you have diabetes, take special care with both things and follow the diabetes treatment carefully, some floaters can be inofensive, only bothersome but any increase in size or number you better check with a retina doctor,
Pay attention to flashes of light or so as well.
Good luck!!
