Tramodol

My PCP just changed me from vicodin to Tramodol. Is anyone else taking this? I took 2 last night, and became very nauseated. . I can't throw up due to nissan fundiplication surgery for GERD. Any suggestions how to cope with this? I had a massage today, new masseur couldn't believe how locked up I was. Hurt but felt good at the same time. Except now my lower back area is screaming with pain! I nned to try to go at least once a month, but insurance doesn't cover it...they never seem to cover things that would really help. LOL, or not..I feel like crying I'm in such pain. I had a nuclear stress test on Monday for some heart concerns, and have been in a massive flair every since. Plus it started to rain.......ug, thatnks for letting me vent!

i also took tramodol at first it seem to help but then out of the blue i began getting nauseous also..i tried it a couple more times after that to make sure it was the tramodol and it was..i am on celebrex and also lyrica..the lyrica seems to take the edge off most of the day but i still have my bad momments..your lucky you can get massages i also have periphreal nerve dysfunction, arthritis and degenerative disc disease and can not stand for anyone or anything to touch my back it causes extereme pain..feels like when you have a bad sunburn and you have someone rub aloe on it..horrible!!!  i also have a tens unit which does not help cure it but when i am in extreme pain it use it and the stimulation helps mask the pain..just dont over use it..you can get one on line for about 50.00..i also have heart problems i tell my husband all the time i could deal with the heart problems if i could choose but i just wish the pain would go away..being in pain 24/7 is horrible..and at night i take ambien (my best friend) it is the only thing i have found that knocks me out and i stay alseep for at least 4 hours..better than laying there in pain and cant get to sleep.. and waking up every 15 minutes in severe pain..i have tried about everything i have been dealing with this for many years..another thing that may help is eucalptus massage oil (pure is better) it seems to help a little also..weird i know but my dad is the one who told me about it..amyway best of luck..and if you find a doctor willing to try things untill they work keep that doctor..alot of them think we are crazy..but if they would just trade us bodies i guarantee they would be begging to trade back within the hour !!!

I used to take Tramadol too.  It really made me nauseous, and if I took more than 2 doses, I threw up.  My doctor switched me to Vicodin which was much better, but since I have autoimmune liver disease, I was limited to how much I could take due to the acetaminophen in Vicodin.

I just switched to Lyrica and after the first day, my pain is a LOT better.  You should talk to your doctor about trying it.

Take care!
