Weight Loss

Hi Everyone,

The last three months have been a nightmare.
Are any of you have food allergies related to Fibro?

I forgot to say how depressed i have been. I almost went to the emergency room due to my weight loss. My normal weight is 98 lbs and I was down to 88 lbs. I am getting an allergic reaction to almost all of the food I eat!

UnderstandingMe, welcome.

There are a few things at play here.
First, let's make an assumption you are a petite female, even if your profile says male, judging from your weight.
So you likely have a fibromyalgia diagnosis, or at least suspicion.
Your wide spread alleries, indicate you have serious G/I and digestive issues.
My well educated guess is that you have Leaky gut syndome, where because of intestinal permeabilty, partially digested or undiagested food particles enter the blood stream, creating an allergic reaction to just about anything ingested.
This may have very little to do with fibro, as fibro is a syndrome  and not a disease on its own.
Look for underlying Candida, a yeast overgrowth infectious condition, which when left untreated will lead to leaky gut syndrome.
You can do a self-testt as a screening by doing a "Saliva Test for Candida". Very easy and fast. Just do  a search.
If you test positive after a few sef-tests let me know.

Depression could have some to do with this, some with fibro and some with other conditions or deficiencies.

For now, you can try coconut oil which is very soothing and therapeutic.
Start with 2 tablespoons daily in your cooking or as a supplement.
It's anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, ant-viral, anti-parasitic and anti-microbial
You may increase to 3T daily in week 2, 4T daily in week 3 .

Look into demulcent herbs, which are rich in mucilage and can soothe and protect irritated or inflamed internal tissue. Aloe vera (leaf juice), is one which I have used myself and recommended to many people.

I hope this helps, however, please note that my comments are not intended to replace medical advice.
Should your symptoms persist or worsen, consider going to the ER.

Take care.

I am a female and very skinny at this point.
I did go through some expensive testing. They stated that I had some Candida (have already taken medicine for), leaky gut and possible problems with my pancreas. Being well under weight I lost more weight!! I went back to my Gastro and he took me off of the herbs. We are trying some other medication.
I have tried coconut oil and Aloe Vera Juice but stomach has not been able to handle it yet. I will try it again shortly.
I wish the doctors would work together instead of com paining that the one does not know what they are doing!!
I do appreciate your input!

I could have saved you a lot of money if you had asked me before your testing, lol! I basically told you the same thing in my reply.

You can do transdermal  Aloe vera gel instead, which may be more tolerable.

Coconut oil, start again-as a trial- with 1T daily broken down in 3-4 doses, perhaps added in herbal tea or other liquid which does not bother you.

Can you do OK with probiotics?
Are you avoiding all the foods and drinks on the candida list?
If not, you should, otherwise you are still likely feeding it. so it will continue
sticking around, giving you all those nasty symptoms, which suck the enjoyment right out of your life!

What exact type of diet are you doing now?
Is it an elemental diet?
If you can't do that either you should consider  intragastric administration.

I have a strong feeling that you have been tossed around like a hot potato,
without much (effective) help, if I judge by the results and your present condition.

Do you know the nature of your pancreatic issues? Is it pancreatitis?
How are your enzyme levels?

What herbs did you try and why does your gastro think the new med will be better tolerated and more effective? Or is this another shot in the dark?

If I were you, I would look for a knowledgeable Holistic or Naturpopathic Doctor. I understand that many people in similar situations to yours, usually cannot afford to pay extra for such services, but if you can, please consider it.

Sorry about all the questions.

Please let me know, so I can , hopefully, offer you some more insight.

Best wishes.
Niko
