Wish I could offer some advice, but i'm suffering from the same symptoms. I keep my bedroom cool, wake up drenched in sweat and then get cold chills. It's awful. Some of this can be attributed to hormones, but I feel the rest is related to our underlying infections (that are seen in FMS/CFS).
There is no proof that FMS is hereditary, but it's likely that genetics do play a role in this illness. I also know that lack of growth hormone plays a part, as we typically take longer to heal than others who do not have FMS. I had a broken femur for over a year and had to have growth hormone introduced, along with electrodes to stimulate it. It has now healed, but would not previously due to low growth hormones.
I've read so many articles, sometimes they get confusing for me, but I do recall one regarding the lactic acid and CFS/ME. I'm not sure where I came across it though. PlateletGal may have something more regarding this.
