can someone help me

Hello new to community but a fibro sufferer diagnosed in 2003. I live in Maine and there is not alot of info about fibromyalgia. FINNALLY! I am on line and have acess to all the info that is out there.I pretty much have found all of my symtoms on line but I havent found anything on sweating profusely while having goose bumps at the same time.Of all of the symptoms that I live with this is THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It feels like when you have the flu and you get the chills and sweat at the same time.I have learned to deal with all the other **** somewhat like the rest of you but this is driving me insane. Also a friend of my moms mailed her a cd on a fibromyalgia conference. The speaker is a sufferer and she has reasearched and found that the thymus gland could be underactive in fibro people and the adreanal gland is effected and causes adrenaline rushes and anxiety.Plus lack of growth hormone causes lactic acid  waste not to be exspelled. Lactic acid is generated when we use our muscles. She said that refined sugar should be totally excluded from our diets.Whew new with the key board and I am worn out. please some one out there help me with my question!!!! I know about hot flashes and freezin cold but I have found nothin on goosebumps while sweating

Wish I could offer some advice, but i'm suffering from the same symptoms.  I keep my bedroom cool, wake up drenched in sweat and then get cold chills.  It's awful.  Some of this can be attributed to hormones, but I feel the rest is related to our underlying infections (that are seen in FMS/CFS).

There is no proof that FMS is hereditary, but it's likely that genetics do play a role in this illness.  I also know that lack of growth hormone plays a part, as we typically take longer to heal than others who do not have FMS.  I had a broken femur for over a year and had to have growth hormone introduced, along with electrodes to stimulate it.  It has now healed, but would not previously due to low growth hormones.

I've read so many articles, sometimes they get confusing for me, but I do recall one regarding the lactic acid and CFS/ME.  I'm not sure where I came across it though.  PlateletGal may have something more regarding this.

Hello there. I too am a  fibro sufferer. I have had it for probably most of my life but only got dx with it about 6 yrs ago. With me, it really set in after I had a vehicle accident. I find that what you are saying is very interesting. Do you know of any web sites that I can go to? To read some articles on this ladies research? One thing I find funny though is that both my sister and I have been diagnosed with fibro. As far as I know, this is not suppose to be inherited disease. The CL  for this community is PlateletGal, she may be able to help you find out more info about the symptoms. Good Luck in your findings.
