Cymbalta did nothing for me. Actually, nothing has helped except Tramadol (Ultram) but
now I can't take that either, because suddenly, I broke into hives when taking it. So I am
"winging" it without help. It's kinda miserable. Most of the drugs they will give you will work on a short-term basis, anyway. Maybe a year or so. Then you'll have to try something else. I agree with Dusty that you should see a Rheumetologist, though. They
can pin-point a natural regimen that can help you,  rather than synthetic drugs your body doesn't need. It may be as simple as Vitamin D. Just wanted you to know that Cymbalta, Lyrica, Savella- they're not all they're cracked up to be. They might work for some, but if you have a very low immune system and intollerance for drugs, as do I, simplicity is best. Pain Therapy, excersize, mild stretching, and Aroma Therapy and
pacing (most important) learning how to pace yourself to keep your pain lo is your best bet. But don't do anything unless you get checked. Ok? Take care!

Hello and welcome,
I have taken Cymbalta and it was absolutely useless for my pain. I have heard mixed reports about about Savella, so I have decided against taking it myself. The negative things I have heard all go along the lines of what you have described here- the heart palpitations and dizziness. If I were you I would consider a different type of medication altogether, but that is just my opinion, and of course I am not a doctor, just the community leader of this forum.

What type of doctor has diagnosed your Fibromyalgia? Are you seeing a Rheumatologist? If you aren't you really should be. They would be the doctors who are the best equipped to diagnose and treat your pain. Have you ever tried an anti-seizure medication? Possible something like Neurontin? That might be something a little less mind zapping and more useful for FM pain.

Tell us a little more about your history. What are your symptoms and do you have any co-occurring diseases of the spine that you know of?? I noticed your profile isn't completely filled out. What is your age and do you currently reside in the US? This info may help me to point you in the right direction to find a Fibro-friendly doctor if you are in need. Let me know what you think, or if you need help with your profile. Thanks.
