I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 15 years ago. This past March I found out it was Lymes disease all this time! These ticks carry Coinfections which I also have (Babesia and mycoplasma)
Go to a doctor that specializes in Lymes disease and get tested!!
chreey is correct! The symptoms you girls have are exactly what I have!

This cannot be done by a general practitioner. Specialized labs for Tick Bourne diseases need to be used.
I was tested every year as a gift to myself for my birthday, being my dogs had Lymes. It always came back negative.
Check the ILADS website, and Lyme disease assoc. For Lyme Literate doctors.  For a large amount of info on Lymes go to Dr. G. Nicholson's site, www.immed.org

So sorry you are all newly diagnosed.  Some things that helped me a lot were:

1)  Take an anti-depressant.  Fibro, chronic pain and depression often go hand in hand.  I really started to see improvement once my depression lifted.  I took Remeron and am still on it after a couple of years.

2)  I took Lyrica which dramatically reduced my pain, fatigue, fog (but fog increases if too high a dose - start at no more than 75mg a day - I was up over 400 mg and came down to 225 a day), and the burning, crawling pain.  You will feel like you are sedated in the first week or two.  It goes away.

3)  Find ways to reduce stress.  My fibro is usually under control but when stress hits I flare.  Your family needs to understand that if they ever want a semblance of the old you back that this must happen.

4)  Light exercise makes a difference.  Walk, yoga, pilates, swimming, biking, whatever you can do and start off slow.

5)  Eat healthy.  Sugar immediately causes me pain and I have found that wheat products aggravate for me too.

6)  Sleep, sleep, sleep.  The best cure of all.  When I am flaring my sleep is bad so I will take a lorazepam, a benadryl or a muscle relaxant to help me sleep.

Good luck.  I hope you can find what works for you.  It took me about a year and a half to get things where I was living a reasonably full life again.  Be patient and make yourself a priority.

I was diagnosed In july and it has been a long road for me as well. i am a mother of 4 ages 12,7,3,17mos. My 7 year old was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. And my 12 yr old has adhd severe oppositional defiance disorder and mood disorder. And he can become very violent. Im married but for the most part my husband isn't very helpful with the kids.
I am still nursing my dd at bedtime so there for im not on any meds to say what may work what may not. i do know that the ones that have been approved are cymbalta, lyrica, and savella. When im done nursing my dr is putting me on savella. Ive heard good things about neurotin helping with pain. I too have the burning pain in my legs but most of my complaints are really bad fibrofog a lot of weakness and pain in legs, migrains and severe back pain. I also have spasms in different areas of my body along with my limbs that will jump. I have read also that people who get diagnosed with fibromyalgia its a good idea to get tested for lyme disease. But just know that your not alone. I think one of my biggest problems is lack of support from hubby and family. Since it is the iinvisable disease people look at ya like your just fine and expect things out of you that your not capable of doing. And being told its all in your head.
