spasming muscle, help!

Hi, my father had a total knee replacement, and after two years his shin/calf tendons/muscle spasm into stiff hard rocks. It hurts him and he has cirosis of the liver so he doesn't get relief from meds.
I'm looking for a leg messager that will help loosen the leg muscle, maybe one that is heated. My mom has a neck messager but it is not sized right for a swollen leg muscle. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I  own a hand held massager with various settings  & infrared heat.
"HoMedics PA5H Percussion Massager", if you want to do a search.
I purchased mine from Costco a couple years ago.

No he doesn't, but me and my mom do, and I know muscle pain and joint paint is a big issue for fibromyalgia suffers, so I thought somebody here might have an idea for a product to help him. My mom has a heated back massager to go in her office chair, but that won't work for his leg.
