bone protrusion after sprained ankle

Hi,
I'm 18 years old and I sprained my ankle last year when I ran in a ditch.  I heard a pop and it was painful but I went back to playing softball immediately the day after. Now, a bone protrudes out of that foot right above my arch. Its kinda like a second ankle I guess.  It hurts a lot after I run.  Also, when I play softball now, I sprain that foot very easily and it hurts a lot more each time I sprain it.  What can I do? Do I have accessory navicular syndrome or something?

a few things could be happening:
1. you fractured your navicular bone and it has healed in a protruded fashion.
2. you tore your posterior or anterior tibialis tendon and has healed in a thickening scarred fashion
3. you tore your spring ligament and has healed in a thickening scarred fashion.
4. you may have an accessory bone

i would get an x-ray first.  if nothing is noted on x-ray, i would get an mri.  i recommend having the pain identified and treated  b/c you are having pain.

Thanks. If it were fractured and it healed the wrong way, is there any way to fix it?
