Big Toe Joint

I have a constant pain in my left foot that is in my big toe joint and goes back towards my arch.  It hurts to walk, run and change direction doing either.  I am a baseball coach and I need my feet and don't want to be in pain anymore.  This has been going on now for about 3 weeks and is getting slowly worse.  What can I do?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
it sounds like you may have sesamoiditis or a sesamoid fracture.
another scenario could be strain at the flexor hallucis tendon area.
i recommend getting an xray because it is worsening.
