Squamous Cell- Ball of Foot

Dr., what would squamous cell or basal cell cancer look like on the ball of foot?  I have a rough spot that has been there for 30 years (I am 54).  I have just lived w/ it without too much trouble all these years, playing tennis etc.  File it down occasionally to get it smooth.  Now it is more uncomfortable and has changed its appearance from rough to smooth, sort of like a blister with a bump underneath and has become larger (it is still only about a centimeter or so).  I go to the dermatologist in 2 months, but was wondering if you could shed some light as to the characteristics of this type of cancer.  I have a history of skin cancers and pre-cancers in areas that received quite a bit of sun.  Also, would carac cream work for this type of ca ? Thanks~

lesions on the ball of the foot can have many appearances b/c the pressure from walking can affect the morphology.
this could simply be a wart or some other skin neoplasm.  i would follow through with your dermatologist to have this biopsied if needed.
