This past weekend my girlfriend started to have issues with her foot after having been squatting (or sitting on her knees rather) for an hour or so. I looked up the symptoms and discovered that it is definitely foot drop.
Reading around on the net creates a lot of anxiety and with there being lots of different causes for FD it is hard to figure out how serious this is. She is in the process of trying to get a Dr appointment but in the meantime I would love it if you guys could share some info with us.
Can squatting cause FD that will never heal? I find it hard to imagine that squatting could cause enough damage to the nerve that it never heals. Hopefully I am right? Is it likely that this is only temporary? She has done some exercises for 2 days and there seems to be a slight improvement already.
Also, could this have been an accumulative effect from squatting or did this one squatting incident cause the FD?
While she is working on getting the Dr appointment she is doing the exercises from this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTjwb6NOPUU, are there any others that you would suggest?
Is it OK if she exercises? We do 20 min of calisthenics every other day. Also, is walking beneficial or not good? We own a dog walking business and spend our days walking, which is one thing that makes this so scary.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
