Acid reflux or something more?

I just want to know if there is more happening to me or not? I went over a month ago to the ER with some chest pain/sensations and burning. They told me I had acid reflux and gave me a GI cocktail and told me to take Prilosec OTC. I did this but my chest pain/sensations still were not going away and I would also have some weird sensations in the bend of my left arm. I had to return to the ER a week later for the same symptoms and they gave me another GI cocktail and told me the sensations/pain in my chest and arm were just from anxiety. I then scheduled in to see my normal doctor and he looked me over and told me I have high blood pressure and prescribed me Lopressor 100mg twice a day and Triavil for my anxiety. I have been on these meds for about a month now and my blood pressure has been lowered to a normal range but I still have sensations/pain/burning just to the left of my breastbone and it seems sometimes to be in my far left chest region and left arm. It also sometimes is more prominent when taking a deep breath. I explained this to my normal doctor and he believes there to be nothing wrong. I just need to know because I think it is lowering my quality of life. My stats are 5'10" tall and I weigh 301 lbs. I do smoke, working on quitting. Please any help or advice is appreciated.

Hi,
Upper GI endoscopy and 24 hours pH monitoring may be done which are confirmatory for acid reflux and its complications.
Till then PPI may be continued. Smoking is a risk factor and has to be stopped.
